First Lady Dazzles In Blue Gown At State Dinner [Pic in URL] Michelle Obama’s dress has one-shoulder silhouette, fully-boned corset

President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama walk out to welcome Mexican President Felipe Calderon and his wife Margarita Zavala to the state dinner at the North Portico of the White House.

May 19, 2010

Michelle Obama chose a shimmery blue gown for the state dinner Wednesday night honoring Mexican President Felipe Calderon and his wife, Margarita Zavala. It had a one-shoulder silhouette, similar to the one Mrs. Obama wore to her husband's inaugural balls. The dress was by Peter Soronen. It's the fourth gown by the designer the first lady has worn.

Soronen said he knew the corset-style gown, complete with lace-up back, was being considered for this lavish event that drew about 200 people, including celebrities Whoopi Goldberg, Eva Longoria Parker and George Lopez. But, he added, he didn't know for sure until she stepped out on the president's arm.

More liberal media BS: Michele’s dress looks horrible. In fact, I think she stole my shower curtain.

Yep, looks just like it, including the mildew!

Police!!

About as dazzling as a too large sausage in a too small casing.

I figured I would just get myself in trouble if I make a rude comment about the first lady blinding guests at a state dinner.

I thought it looked weird, pushing up her underarms. It did not fit correctly.

No, I don’t like her politics, but I can admit it when a woman is dressed nicely.

I can’t believe how she is promoted as a fashion icon. Her choices are generally odd, they often fit poorly, her posture is extremely bad, and I really think she’d benefit from designs that better suit her body and movement.

I didn’t like Hilary’s politics, either, but I have not criticized her “fashion.” She dressed plainly and simply and reasonably, and was not constantly pushed into our faces as some sort of glamorous trendy hottie.

Laura Bush was not so pushed; she dressed modestly and nicely. Barbara Bush was also modest and classic, and gave off a grandmotherly air. Nancy Reagan had her famous designer and was more cutting edge - but her clothes fit and were still within the range of normal. Also she didn’t hulk about.

The last true fashion icon we had for a first lady was Jackie Kennedy. She was gorgeous, she dressed perfectly, and most women would LOVE to look like her.

The MSM is so in the tank that this.... mmm... is called “beautiful” and “fashionable”. It’s utterly (udderly) ridiculous!

Again with the ammo belt. And the dress...does not fit. It rides too high and makes her, uh, bunch up at the top. Not attractive. She needs to lay off the weight training too. Blech.

As long as it’s a Dumbocrat in the office, the MSM are the best propagandists in the biz. You can sprinkle chocolate chips over a stinking turd, and they’ll call it a donut.

Actually I think she looks the best I’ve seen her. Dang that bodice looks painful though. Wouldn’t be surprised to see her pass out before the evening is over as it doesn’t look like she can breathe in it.

She’s definitely found a better class of designer of late.

I’ve seen it, vented. Now I have come to grips with the dress. I forgive her.

BTW, DU thinks the dress is great! 100% of ‘em.

The over-the-top MSM gushing praise for a First lady who has openly destroyed any semblance of fashion sophistication has got to be one of the most revolting cognitive dissonance programs ever run.

That Michelle Obama is too blinded by her ego to realize what she is being used for is the pièce de résistance of the whole miserable mess.

I have a huge blue tarp I bought at Home Depot. And the giant blue plastic bags at Ikea are close.

You don’t get it.

The MSM said that MO is the new Jackie O.

She is trying to live up to that absurd image.
