This event comes a little more than a year after Travolta and his wife, actress Kelly Preston, lost their son,

So CBS is equating the death of their child with their loss of a couple of dogs?

I like Travolta. The scientology thing aside, he’s done a number of good movies, he mostly keeps his opinions to himself, and he’s really suffered a number of major losses in his life. I wish him well.

I mean really, was the guy driving the truck really on the lookout for random dogs running around near planes outside an airport?

Forgive me, but I’m having a little trouble equating the death of a teen aged son with a couple of dogs. (Flame away.)

He should give up that Scientology thing as it has brought his life nothing but bad karma.

How fast was the vehicle approaching? Where the dogs "attacking" the vehicle?

At 60 mph, dogs chasing a vehicle can have a Darwinian event.

Most pet owners know that a family can become very attached to their dogs. I know we would be very sad about it. It is especially tough on kids. My sympathy to them.

So the dogs were loose on the tarmac?

I’d rather lose my husband than my dog.

An airport service pickup truck was approaching the airplane to service the airplane and did not see the dogs

I wouldn't expect a pick up truck to see anything

This story lacks specifics. Were the dogs in a carrier? Werre they running loose on the tarmac? If they were loose a simple leash could have prevented this.

owns a home in Isblesboro, a small coastal town in Maine.

In case anyone is wondering, the name is "Islesboro" and it's an island in the Penobscot Bay, in Maine.

Just damn!

Poor Travolta and his wife have had such an awful series of tragedies.

My prayers are with them and their surviving child.

Wow. Just wow. I am so very sad for anyone that has something like this happen. Pets are family and to have two struck violently and killed at the same time is just devastating. Take into consideration what happened also with his son Jet and honestly any human on this earth no matter what their chosen faith would be emotionally flattened.

My heart goes out to John and his family. Remember too the exploitive jerks that tried to screw with him and his wife after Jet's death. I wouldn't wish their suffering on any human no matter how much I despised them. Ever. Prayers to the Travolta family.
