One of the alarming side effects of obesity is that it apparently causes brain damage. The federal government, which ran up an $83 billion deficit just in April, the one month it normally counts on a surplus thanks to Tax Day, is obese. So maybe its time to check its brain function.
"Not a single expert that weve consulted has said that having the federal government tell people what to do is the way to solve" the obesity problem, Michelle Obama told reporters on Tuesday the same day she thunkingly delivered a 124-page White House Task Force report which gloats that "Twelve Federal agencies participated actively," cites "recommendations . . for federal action" and promises that "leaders in the public and private sectors. . . are ready and waiting to put this plan into action."
The catchall is this: "The Federal government . . . should provide clear, actionable guidance to states, providers and families on how to increase physical activity, improve nutrition, and reduce screen time."
How is that not telling people what to do?

So if I want to kill a baby I have that right. But by golly I shouldn’t try to put down a cheeseburger.
We could right now by cutting out a lot of overlapping bureaucracy at least 20-25% from the size of government. That could result in GIGANTIC savings, to say the least.
You’re right in the money! How many could justify their jobs being essential to keeping this country running. Surely 25% would be a good starting point.
“Fatty Poppins”- from the article-! What a scream-! Now have wet keyboard-!
You sound like one of those "bitter clingers"! Don't you know that abortion is a RIGHT, but 'Meat is Murder'?!
Its enough to make you vomit, which in the end will help with the weight loss. Perhaps that is their plan.
Unfortunately, you can bet that all the useless "make-work" government positions there are now will NEVER go away, especially with the SEIU and AFSME Unions in control.....the jobs that could be eliminated number in the 100's of thousands, I think, AND, they could start with the Congress and all the voluminous/counter-productive Regulatory Agencies.....
I'm clinging bitterly to my guns, religion, football and cheeseburgers.
Speaking of that, Cabelas has a sale on the Ruger 22...I just decided to go pick one up!
