(SNIP) ...This commercial smells like someone who knows the race is tightening, big-time.
Early on in the spot, Meg says, "So let's get down to brass tacks. I strongly oppose Barbara Boxer and I am working hard to defeat her."
Say what? The presumption here is that everybody has seen the Steve Poizner commercials ripping Meg for supporting Boxer and writing her a check in 2004 for her re-election.
But if you're like most Californians -- who leave their TV set occasionally to gander at the poppies -- you might say, "Why is somebody running for governor calling out somebody who is a Senator?" (SNIP)

Meg has just shown herself to be very touchy about her RINO ways.
All attacks against Boxer, the arrogant one, are welcome.
Yes. But she is not running against Boxer. She could attack Boxer in her ad without saying she is working to defeat Boxer, like saying “working to defeat Boxer's far left policies” for example.
And I’d like to know what the heck Meg Whitman has been doing for the cause of defeating Barbara Boxer? Enquiring minds...
Meg is out-of-gas (well, at least in one way.)
RINOs don’t like Boxers.
Meg Whitman, the 2010 GOP gubernatorial candidate already on the defensive for her embarrassingly poor voting record, once endorsed and actively supported Democratic Sen. Barbara Boxer, one of the most proudly liberal politicians in California.
Whitman not only endorsed Boxer and donated the maximum $4,000 to the junior California senator's 2004 re-election campaign, but the former eBay CEO also served on an exclusive committee of Technology Leaders for Boxer in her re-election battle against Republican California Secretary of State Bill Jones, according to election records obtained by The Chronicle."

I have no great like or dislike for Whitman. I am more than a little irked that she is spending so much money to become governor. That ain’t right, but at least it’s her money. I think she is probably a more than competent manager of people and entities from her work at ebay and Carnation. Whether that would have any effect in an overwhelmingly corrupt Democrat state like California is nothing anyone can predict. I personally think there is neither a mathematical solution nor a self-generated solution for California, and I believe that CA has to crash and burn to right itself.
But she has supported Boxer on several fronts through the years, and this is the type of sudden, poll-driven reactionary turn that leads me now to distrust her.
Meg is refraining from donating to Boxer this year.
All you have to know is these RINOS lie just like the dems do because that’s who they really support.
You want real change that works for America and its people. Elect real conservatives.
All rinos hate conservatives. She’s upset that Palin has brought a reaction rather than the mind numbed heavenly chorus she expected. Man, what a show!
Whitman is a loon.
They obviously did polling to get all the hot button topics to say Whitman is for (even though she is against them).
Think they were so busy trying to tell everybody what they wanted to hear than they missed the Boxer gaffe.
The funniest part is when she says she ran ebay with conservative values. If campaign ad lie could put a candidate in jail, Whitman should now be in handcuffs over that one.
Will you people please quit touting how good she was at ebay and do even a bit of basic research on the subject!
OK, I’ll bite. ebay’s revs doubled every year she was there.
I think their purchase of PayPal was superb. I think their purchases of Skype and StubleUpon were idiotic.
Why don’t you provide even a basic bit of a link that supports what you seem to be claiming about her?
I've posted it a bunch of times. At some point you would think people willing to tout an accomplishment of a candidate might actually do so research to make sure it is true.
Now that may be a bit unfair because if you were not involved in ebay it may be a bit obsure.
Alas, I don't have to go back and look up the detail for you. My prior posts are already indexed on Google. Here...
Lets start with this consumer complaint as an example and then move on with it serving as an introduction to what you asked about.
Bargainland advertised a Tektronix curve tracer using a photo that showed an intact picture tube and suggested the item had a value of over $1,200. I won the item and when it arrived there was no picture tube present but a few glass fragments suggest the unit may have been dropped before shipment. When contacted Bargainland at first did not respond but finally responded saying the unit was listed AS IS. But the item was sent to me AS WAS! The Bargainland website claims that items received significantly different that represented will be fully refunded, including shipping costs. Bargainland refused to honor this. Ebay was of no help even though they state they will not tolerate violations of sellers stated policies.
There was not just one complaint like this. Thousands of consumers have similar tales of woe.
Lest you think this is just a normal consumer issue that ebay - and Whitman - were not aware of, that is is not the case. Intensive contact was made by groups within ebay and by individual members to get ebay to correct the problem that contact included Whitman.
Despite those efforts, it became clear to all that ebay took no action because of the money contributed to ebays bottom line. Bargainland was a titanium power seller bringing in heaps of money to ebay and its pay site, PayPal.
I dont know about you, but when I see this kind of behavior by a company and its CEO, it speaks volumes about morals and is a good predictor of future behavior.
If this is what is meant by a successful businesswoman I want no part of that kind of a person. Conservatives do not allow things like this to happen at a company they control.
Ive kept this short. Here are a few more links for you.

I have utterly zero argument with what you’re talking about...for a period of time, ebay was fraud central. It has gotten better, but it stunk to high heaven for a while and I would not use it.
Funny you should mention Tektronix, as I used to buy & sell their graphics terminals. Best business I ever owned.
I too, had several instances of fraud; I bot a $1350 video recorder, and it turned out the seller simply swiped the pix from somewhere else, claimed he owned it, then offered it for sale. I was fairly lucky...I asked for and asked and asked for a tracking number which he never seemed to be able to supply. I then looked around at some of the other “customers” of his who bought expensive video gear, then asked if they had ever received their goods. No...no...no...and no. Ultimately I was able to gather all these people together and cause ALL of our complaints to land upon the local sheriff’s desk at the same time. Sheriff paid the dude a visit and the situation was rectified, which was fortunate, because even though interstate wire/mail fraud is a serious crime, no enforcement exists sub-$50K.
A lot of fraud went on back then, no question. Of course, ebay was growing like a bacterial colony and all the ugly incidents got buried in their “98.2%” happy-customer rate.
I concede your point.
