Feel free to agree or disagree. I disagree on a few, but on the main events, U.S. Senate (Chuck DeVore) and Prop 14 (OH HELL NO), spot on.

I like Tom, but Poizner? Absolutely not. He should just run himself.

TOM McCLINTOCK SAYS: For U.S. Senate, Chuck DeVore: Chuck is a conservatives conservative who has always stood on principle, even when it has meant standing virtually alone. Ive never heard him give a speech without thinking I wish Id said that. I rank him up there with Sam Aanestad as one of the finest people Ive had the opportunity to serve with in the legislature. He would become an instant leader in the United States Senate.

Sam Aanestad is our Senator. He is a real jerk. He supports removal of the 4 Klamath River dams, even though his constituents adamantly oppose it and many will be directly hurt by it. The local Republican Central Committee wrote a platform piece against dam removal that was supported by many North State Central Committees. Aanestad got up and shot it down at the state meeting.
He held a town hall meeting back in December where he lied about being told the Board of Supervisor’s stand on dams. (He threw them under the bus after they left to attend another meeting.) He spoke demeaningly and very rudely to constuituents and the Republican Central Committee reps at that meeting. Please do not vote for him. Do not give him any more power!

I appreciate all the thread bumps and all, but can we focus on the California candidates and propositions and focus less on Sarah Palin (whether you love her, hate her, or have mixed feelings)?

Prop. 17. Insurance Rates. YES: A simple question: should drivers be able to take their continuous coverage discount with them when they change insurance companies? A simpler question: why are our laws such a micro managing mess that we have to vote on something as self-evident as this in the first place?
He's asking us? Who wrote the law preventing it?

There are slim pickings for conservatives in the governors race this year, and in California campaigns by necessity must be waged on the airwaves. Advantage Whitman.

For Governor, Steve Poizner: Steve had the courage to support Arizonas decision to enforce our immigration laws when Meg Whitman cut and ran. He opposes the bank bailouts, rampant borrowing and environmental extremism that Meg Whitman embraces. And unlike Whitman, Steve Poizner was never a huge fan of radical leftist Van Jones. This time, lets have a governor from the Republican wing of the Republican Party. I love Tom, wish he were on the top of the state's ballot instead of Meggy and Stevie.....But wait.....There are a few others on the ballot on June 8. Why are they not considered?
About two months ago, our group first met one of these "other" candidates and were, and are, very impressed by his openness and honesty....and by his conservative and constitutional values. Believe me, we questioned him mercilessly on many issues vital to the future of our state and nation, and he was spot on with every answer.
Trouble is, these "other" people don't have the millions of Poizner, or the billions of Whitman to throw around and buy the title of Governor, thereby soothing their tremendous ego, as Arnold did. All they have is a message and integrity....two things that the front runners seriously lack!
Dismiss them if you will, but at least take a look and a listen before you do.
Ken Miller will be appearing at a rally or a Tea Party near you in the coming 3 1/2 weeks. Be there!

Poizner has shown a few RINO tendencies but Whitman is far, far, worse. There really is no perfect choice, but clearly Poizner is “the lesser of two weevils”. His support of the Arizona law goes far in atoning for his past mistakes.
And I can’t remember the last time McClintock was wrong....

Brian FitzGerald is running for Insurance Commissioner against Villines and is NOT a RINO. He is a valid choice, who knows what he is doing at the Dept of Insurance. He knows there is a job to be done, and it is not run for other office. It is to make sure CA has an insurance marketplace left. With the two guys on the other side wanting universal health care for PETS, we can see where we are headed if they win. Please give him your vote. More here:
