Pirates will think twice when they see a Russian flag on a ship.

"Why should we feed some pirates?" I don't have a problem with feeding pirates ... to the sharks.

Medvedev said “We have to deal with pirates like our forefathers did”
Man, even Adolph Hitler killed himself not to be captured by those forefathers....

An international maritime treaty means suspected pirates can be tried in the home countries of their victims If Russia authorizes the captian of a milatary ship to conduce an onboard trial and pass sentence under the authority of homeland Russia, it sounds legal to me.

This adds a little more danger into the pirate mix since they wont know if they are grabbing a ship that will get them killed or not. a Russian Roulette sort of?

Even if it didn't before they loaded in the pirates, it probably "accidentally" acquired one before being set adrift.

While Somali pirates continue to attack other countries vessels they’ll be offering free bilge-cleaning services to Russian vessels from now on.

Sorta like how concealed carry protects unarmed people, too. Cool.

absolutely! float ‘em out a few hundred yards and plink away at ‘em. call shot also, “okay, tall one in the back standing with the red hat”....etc. extra vodka rations for best shooter. all of the rooskie crew could join in the fun....

The pirates know well ahead of time what vessel they are targeting and what cargo is on board. They have moles in the insurance companies. Or you could just go to marinetraffic.com and thanks to AIS, see what ship is sailing where, all over the globe.

. . . reported a conversation with an unidentified pirate who claimed the men were indeed dead but said they had all been shot before they were loaded into the skiff. There is no evidence for this account. No evidence. . .and NO credibility given it's source.

Historically, the ultimate fate of all pirates.
Appropriate.

It hurt really bad.Keelhauling also put some of the punished sailors out of their misery before they could be hauled back aboard.
Apparently, these pirates forgot about when the career counselor mentioned death as an occupational hazard for piracy.
