The ink was barely dry on President Barack Obama's signature before the RAND Corp. released a report concluding that, not only would the hard-won health care package fail to curb health insurance premium increases, but the bill itself would drive premiums for young people up as much as 17 percent.
This should not have been a surprise: the Congressional Budget Office had already warned that the plan would do almost nothing to reduce premium hikes. And when New York implemented the same type of insurance reforms in the 1980s, it led to an increase of nearly $500 per year for young people. But somehow, the media didn't pay much attention.
And, of course, during the health care debate, no presidential speech was complete without a promise that "if you have health insurance today, and you like it, you can keep it." But the Congressional Budget Office now says that as many as 10 million workers will lose their current insurance under Obamacare. Some of those workers will have to buy new insurance through the government-run exchanges. Millions more will be thrown onto Medicaid.
In addition, the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Studies reports that half of seniors currently enrolled in the Medicare Advantage program will lose their coverage under that program and be forced back onto traditional Medicare.

I like that. Great point!
First he'll rob them and then he'll rob us to start "kinda like an insurance program" for oil companies and they MUST join.
If the critics were correct, how can they be “fearmongers.”
Thanks for posting this

The oil leak is just to good a crisis to allow to go to waste. Of course the statist are going to take advantage of the Industry since ‘energy’ was next on the list.
Opportunity does not often knock twice.
Happy? He’s being hammered for being to slow to respond.
The healthcare thing will NOT fade away, not anytime soon.
lol!
First he’ll rob them and then he’ll rob us to start
Obama Hood: he steals.
[wish i knew photoshop....]
Way before any of this got to the point of being voted on,
I was discussing the “death panels” with a lib who supports ANYTHING these people do.
First, it was denial that rationing would occur.
I walked through the increased demand due to increased “free” coverage vs the reduced number of providers,
and asked how rationing COULDN’T occur.
I got back - “well, better if a government panel does the rationing than an insurance company”.

Fearmongers? Nope. We were being realistic.
Where are the site pests? Apparently it hasn't occurred to them they will fall under 0bama-lack-of-care, too.
Clean the sewer that is this Congress and this thug Administration and then repeal, repeal, repeal.
Repent? Sadly, Obama, Congress and the press knew this all along, they cared not, they want their socialism/fascism/marxism/communism right now, damn everything else.
Good catch, George.
“Where are the site pests? “
Slow day ;-)
Wait’ll the marxists ram finance reform through that will screw everyone but Wall Street. We will pay a checkbook tax and government will be able to look at what we spend in our checking accounts anytime they want. Watched by yet another unelected committee that will decide what their rules are without congress.
And Waxman sticking his anti-supplement bill in there to make it harder and more costly to buy vitamins.
Each legislation takes away more of our rights and intrudes government into our most private files. Our liberty and privacy are over after finance reform and cap and trade.
I hef a devious plen!
My husband hef a devious plen too. Don’t put any money in the banks and arm up. Whatever that means.
If people think government will be watching every dime they spend they will go back to the mattress. I will be going to Costco for one of their safes to be installed I know that much.
Everyone needs a devious plen!
