HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Attorney General Eric Holder says the federal government may go to court to challenge it Arizona's new immigration law. The concern is the state is over-stepping its authority by enforcing federal law. But governors along the border say the feds aren't doing enough.
ABC 13 spoke with Gov. Rick Perry Tuesday while he was in Houston for an event at the Chinese consulate. Perry says, while all eyes are on Arizona after passing that immigration law, he's actually looking towards Washington.
The governor says, in Texas, there is a laundry list of priorities when it comes to immigration.
When asked about the new immigration law in Arizona, he says there should be a debate on border security before a legitimate discussion on immigration reform.
"When you have a porous border, and people are moving back and forth across that border, then it doesn't make any difference what you do on immigration policy, frankly," Perry said.

As Duncan Hunter said: Perry and the Texas Senators did not want the border fence. So they killed the border fence, on the basis that they wanted to have a friendly border. They got a friendly border, but the problem is its friendly to drug dealers, rapists, and felons who are coming across in increasing numbers to commit crimes against Americans and move large amounts of cocaine and other narcotics.
Screw RINO Perry/. Fraud.
Is Holder bringing along a fifth grader to help him with the legal logic?
He could do something about the sanctuary cities in Texas. I am very disappointed that this is his attitude.
What he says here sort of sounds like code for amnesty.
That does it for me. Perry is OUT!
Hunter is in! So far.
Perry was a big cheerleader for McCain’s amnesty. Still is an amnesty, open borders queen despite some phony tough talk.
Hey Amerika! How's that dopey/hopey/changey thing workin' for ya?
Holder drops charges against he black racist panthers
will not give info on the foot hood shooting
but will go after a law made by AZ which backs the fed law up
it is obvious we have radicals who care nothing for this country or even whites , Christians now (his speech asking for only blacks, women and hispanic to come out and vote)
It is disgusting but even just as bad is the media ,
I’m not surprised. The primary is over, and he knows that all he needs to do is stay an inch or two to the right of Bill White.
Perry is wrong.
Illegals are already threatening to leave AZ because of the new law.
The Feds are not going to secure the borders and Perry wanting more drones is a joke. Perry is putting the cart before the horse. For someone who supposedly doesn't look to Washington for solutions, he's basically saying let's wait until the Feds secure the border and then we can pass an immigration reform law.
One thing good about this issue: Republicans have been exposed and stripped naked. They have a winning issue and once again they're pissing it away.
If you don’t have a border, you don’t have a country.
This is a very simple test. Perry fails.
Not surprising the lib media using a word that is not used in the entire interview.
Perry might indeed be a weenie on illegal immigration but to have a strong word like "against" when it's not used, is pitting people against others in the conservative camp.
If Perry stood against the fence, then he IS a weenie but in this interview, nowhere did he state that he was anti-AZ law.
Where’s Perry’s staff? They’ve usually joined these types of threads by now, to defend him (incredible what people will do for money).

I was speaking of the holder story.

Israel is a master of border control and security against missile toting border crossers. They don’t use drones, and I am not sure they use concrete. Texas is more than capable of doing the same. Debate. We’re gaging on debate and rhetoric. That’s why Jan Brewer looks so d... good!
