Tea Party Express Independent Expenditure Campaign for Reid Challenger, Sharron Angle (R), Tops $150,000 in First Round

The Tea Party Express (website: www.TeaPartyExpress.org) has announced that expenditures in its Independent Expenditure campaign for conservative Republican Sharron Angle (who is running to unseat Harry Reid) have now topped $150,000.

The money is being spent on an extensive TV and radio ad blitz on more than 30 TV and radio stations across the state.

Angle has already seen her support rise by 12% since the announcement of the Tea Party Express endorsement of her Senate campaign.

"We are hoping to nudge her poll numbers even higher by showing conservative Republicans that she is the best choice to take on Harry Reid," said Bryan Shroyer, Political Director for the Tea Party Express.

News conferences detailing the ad buy, and providing additional information on the Tea Party Express's campaign to support Sharron Angle for U.S. Senate will be revealed at news conferences in Reno and Las Vegas on Thursday and Friday.  Details follow at the end of this release.

Here are the first three ads that are being aired as part of this first $150,000+ wave of advertising in support of Sharron Angle:

Here's some info for you from April 05, 2010 Here
The new numbers show Reid trailing ex-GOP Chairman Sue Lowden 54% to 39%. Only four percent (4%) would prefer some other candidate while two percent (2%) are not sure.

Former Assemblywoman Sharron Angle has increased her lead over the Democrat this month and is now ahead 51% to 40%. Six percent (6%) would opt for another candidate and only two percent (2%) are undecided between the two.

Reid now runs a little closer with businessman Danny Tarkanian, trailing the Republican 49% to 42%. Six percent (6%) would vote for another candidate in this race and only two percent (2%) are not sure.

Do some research and you can find some more recent stuff I'm sure.

What is the date of that "latest" poll?

Tea Party puts out first radio ad for U.S. Senate candidate Sharron Angle

The Tea Party Express says in its first radio ad for Sharron Angle that voters "can't do any better" than the former Reno Assemblywoman in picking a Republican to defeat U.S. Sen. Harry Reid in the fall.

The radio spot by the national group touts Angle as the best candidate when it comes to "conservative constitutionalist principles" and it praises her for fighting tax hikes when she was a lawmaker.

*snip*

Whether the ad campaign helps Angle is yet to be seen. Early polls show her able to beat Reid, the Democratic leader in the Senate, in the fall, but those same surveys show her running far behind her June 8 primary opponents, including GOP front-runner former state Sen. Sue Lowden as well as Las Vegas businessman Danny Tarkanian.

Listen to the radio ad here.

Off Topic.

Does the Tea Party Express still support Democrat Walt Minnick in Idaho?

Here’s the background link on the subject:
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2494121/posts

The reason I’m inquiring is because I haven’t read any followup by the Tea Party Express regarding their endorsement error.

There are two conservative Republicans running in Idaho against Minnick: Labrador and Ward.

It's from a Mason Dixon poll done for the Las Vegas newspaper. RCP only posted the top two vote getters. (Scroll down to the Nevada primary section).

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2010/senate/2010_nevada_senate_race.html

I dont think the paper published the entire poll.

"Tea Party Express endorses Democrat in Idaho"

Vaughn Ward wonders when the Tea Party Express passed him by. The Republican challenger to Blue Dog Democrat Rep. Walt Minnick in Idaho figured to at least have a shot at an endorsement to switch the seat from a vote for Nancy Pelosi and Democratic control of the House.

Instead, the Tea Party Express endorsed Minnick, and left a lot of head-scratching behind in Idaho afterward:

When the Tea Party Express last week endorsed Idaho Rep. Walt Minnick — the only Democrat to receive the backing of the conservative grassroots group — one of his Republican challengers said he was simply baffled to learn the news, considering Minnick’s past votes that line up with Democrats on bailouts, the estate tax and Guantanamo Bay.

“He voted for Nancy Pelosi. I mean all these things — I’m like, ‘Wait a minute. This is the guy you guys want to get behind nationally?’” said Republican Vaughn Ward, an active Marine Corps reserve officer whose candidacy for Minnick’s seat was endorsed by Sarah Palin.

His initial shock, Ward told The Daily Caller during an interview Tuesday, turned to frustration upon learning from Tea Party groups in Idaho — who he said have not endorsed candidates in the race yet — that the Tea Party Express didn’t consult them before the endorsement of the Democrat. …

Can someone tell me why Danny Tarkanian is not doing better in the polls? He’s Sean Hannity’s choice and Sue Lowden is Rush Limbaugh’s choice. Why is Danny not supported by the Tea Party; isn’t he a Conservative?
