(CNSNews.com) – When President Obama asked former Sen. Alan Simpson (R-Wyo.) and Democrat Erskine Bowles to chair his debt commission in February, he told them to consider any and all ways to reduce the federal deficit – including new taxes, apparently.
Bowles, a former chief of staff in the Clinton White House, told Fox News Sunday that “the president looked Senator Simpson and me in the eye and he said, ‘Everything is on the table.’ So we are going to look at every single way to right this fiscal ship,” Bowles said. That includes cutting “sacred cows” and raising revenue, he added.

We’ve studied this how many times. Guess government can’t get the answer it wants. So another try, maybe this will be the lucky one.
Probably because they will give rebates to their base, which will ensure further kool-aid-drinking support. It’s the only way it can work for re-election, at least until elections are no longer required.
They will not recommend cutting entitlements.

And WHO is supposed to COLLECT this tax? Once again, the small business owner. More crap to deal with and another good reason to deal only in cash or gold or silver. Not sure about cash. To hell with taking any credit card. This is good business?

The notion that Obama’s budget increases the debt so much and yet he forms this “commission” is stunningly vile. It is a fiscal version of Bill Clinton going to the sink after a Monica - so repulsive as to make the vomit rise.
Putting on my Alinsky hat, I predict that any proposed tax increase would be accompanied by an increase in the income tax giveaXXX refund for indigXXX low-income taxpayers. Once the taxes are increased, it will of course start another cycle of Congressional spending on pork.
