On the face of it, Elena Kagan, the United States Solicitor General, and Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina would not seem to have much in common.
Kagan is a Democrat and former dean of Harvard who is currently in the frame to be chosen by President Barack Obama as a Supreme Court Justice. Graham happens to be a lawyer too but he is a Republican, a faithful sidekick of Senator John McCain and a Colonel in the US Air Force Reserve.
Last week, however, both were "outed" as being gay - actions that prompted outrage on the Left in the case of Kagan and, well, hilarity on the Left in the case of Graham.

Prefacing his remarks with the statement that "I'm a tolerant person", William Gheen, head of Americans for Legal Immigration, demanded that the Senator "tell people about your alternative lifestyle and your homosexuality".
Graham's crime in Gheen's eyes is that he favours immigration reform - and is (bear with me here) "trying to sell out your own countrymen" for fear of his true sexuality being revealed.

If they “outed” light in the loafers Lindsey, then good. Maybe we’ll have a better chance of getting rid of the RINO in the republican primary next time he’s up for reelection.
I suspect that Lindsay’s lifestyle might be far more heinous than merely being gay.
It doesn’t matter that Graham is gay. What matters is he’s a stupid RINO that should be kicked out of office.
Maybe Graham was voting like an uber RINO so much was because he was being blackmailed?
Wonder how he hid so long in the Air Force Reserves???
Hope he managed to retire as a reservist..he is out now...he didn’t tell but someone else did....
There was a discussion of Graham’s how do you say “proclivities” today on FR - linking to a blog. It got up to 50 hits, and then got pulled. In this case, this is a REAL, PUBLISHED STORY, and thus should not get pulled.
But I am especially happy to see Miss Kagen finally being outed. To me it’s CRITICAL to know something of the personal lives of people going on to the court...simply because if they don’t have kids, then it’s reasonable that they would be MUCH LESS CONCERNED about how this country looks in 50 years, than if they had kids (and that affects immigration law, debt, and overall economic decisions). I also worry about blackmail - but in Miss Kagen’s case, it could only help moderate her decisions.

That actually makes the most sense. Remember, it wasn’t that long ago that Graham was part of the House team trying to remove Clinton from office...he was far from the flaming liberal that he is now.
...and then he changed. Hmmm. That’s why these guys need to be outed - I could care less if they’re gay (other than if they are nominated for the courts), but I want to be sure that they’re not being blackmailed because of their sexual preference.
This story is example 3,465 of why gays should not be allowed into the military.

I wish I had a cool graphic depicting a “RINO” with Mr. Graham’s name under it — that would best capture the problem I have with the guy.

Yep. If you’re gay and you want to be GOP establishment, run and win as gay, otherwise expect the charges of hypocrisy.
