Terrorism, American style

M.B. WHISLER

Webster's New World Dictionary describes terrorism as "the act of terrorizing; use of force or threats to demoralize, intimidate, and subjugate, especially such use as a political weapon or policy."

What is going on in the land of the free and the land of "In God We Trust"?

America is becoming an unsafe country as a result of the combative tea party organizers who are filled with hate, rage and violence. How can we have people organizing to hate others in America? Who are these tea party organizers? Could they be the ill KKK's hiding under the tea party movement?

It is beginning to look like these people are taking America back to the ill racist 1950s and the 1960s. It is becoming clear that the tea party members and their leaders are determined to divide this nation. How can we continue to let these people make the good Americans look bad in our communities and the international community?

As Americans, we owe it to our children and grandchildren to stand up to these destructive haters. They need to know that we understand the Constitution as they claim to understand it, too. We have the right to be here because we too are Americans.

Where are the good American Christians when these terrorists are destroying and dividing the country? Should we not stand by these United States of America? As we all know, America has been vigilant in combating terrorists in foreign lands. Why can't we do the same with our homemade terrorists?

America is a progressive nation which cannot afford to continue with these hate-mongers destroying the country. When is America going to protect her innocent citizens who are spit on, terrorized, intimidated, demoralized and humiliated? What has happened to the land of the free? Can we say that it is still the sweet land of liberty?

Why are some leaders condoning and supporting this hateful behavior? Where is America going? It would seem that it is time for Christian men and women to step up to the plate and stop the hate. America has always taken pride in stopping terrorists who tried to stop progressive efforts. Good people know that hate is a serious illness which can destroy a people and its country.

As true Christian men and women, we must stand up and protect the Constitution and our Christian values. Are we prepared for America to go back to the old racist days? We must know that even South Africa is not going back there. Maybe we need former President Nelson R. Mandela to bring us some unity and peace. We need something good to happen because these reckless and arrogant people are set to divide and destroy the United States of America.

Can we all get along? Yes, we still can.

Didn't see these editorials during 8 years of Bush Derangement Syndrome. Riots in our streets, antisemitism from so-called "peace" protesters, death threats against Bush.

I don't stand with anyone using that rhetoric at a tea party rally either.

Left Wing Extremists have announced that they will deliberately smear the tea party movement by hauling out purposely misspelled signs, spouting racial epithets, and violent rhetoric.

CTTP (Crash The Tea Party.org) is where they make clear just what they will do in the name of Left Wing propaganda.

Wonder if teach was a red diaper doper baby.

Because this administration refused to admit that the Fort Hood shooting of 4 dozen members of our military and family was "domestic terrorism".

That’s about as much fact-filled, cool reason as most liberals are capable of nowadays. I’m still not sure it isn’t satire.

WTF? Has this person even BEEN to one of these Tea Parties? Honestly, other than hatred of [government] corruption, there isn’t much hate.

Sometimes I hope that Civil War 2 starts soon just to shut these idiots up about ‘violence.’

“As we all know, America has been vigilant in combating terrorists in foreign lands. Why can’t we do the same with our homemade terrorists?”

Because our school teachers have taught us all to celebrate diversity.

“Could they be the ill KKK’s hiding under the tea party movement?”

It’s a good thing that our teachers avoided trying to teach us to think.

“Webster’s New World Dictionary describes terrorism as “the act of terrorizing; use of force or threats to demoralize, intimidate, and subjugate, especially such use as a political weapon or policy.”

Nothing about gunning down service members’ families or driving airliners into skyscrapers eh? She must get all her news from Webster’s New World Dictionary. Or maybe high school History books.

May 12, 2004 Wednesday

Several York County police chiefs say they’ve never seen racial profiling occur — but the county chief’s association has formed a committee to study the problem and offer solutions.
Already part of a national conversation, the idea that police stop motorists or take suspects into custody because of their skin color became a hot topic in York County last week — when Sheriff Bill Hose said he had never seen racial profiling during his 40 years in law enforcement, and said he was “sick of hearing about all this racial profiling crap.”

Hose’s comments came in response to accusations that two of his deputies pulled over off-duty state Trooper Raphael Christopher in August because he is black. Christopher was cited for driving at an unsafe speed for conditions, but the ticket was thrown out in court. He is appealing a citation for having the wrong address on his driver’s license.

M.B. Whisler, leader of the local chapter of the NAACP, was outraged by Hose’s comments, called for Hose’s resignation and invited a state representative of her organization to York. Last night, Whisler said the group has withdrawn the resignation request and is instead seeking a meeting with Hose.
Hose said that since the call for his resignation, he has received numerous phone calls and e-mails in support of his statements, some from the law enforcement community.

Several York County police chiefs say that like Hose, they have never seen a case of racial profiling — but most stopped short of supporting Hose’s strong comments.

Quickel agreed with sheriff: The exception was Hellam Township Chief Blaine Quickel, who said he was glad to hear what Hose said.

“As far as racial profiling, I agree 100 percent with Bill Hose. I’m tired of hearing that crap,” he said.

A bigger problem than racial profiling, Quickel said, is that minorities “play the race card” when they are pulled over.

Like Hose, Quickel said he has never seen an instance of racial profiling during 31 years’ experience as a police officer and chief. It might exist, he said, but it’s infrequent and “professional organizations deal with it, take corrective measures, and those people are weeded out.”

“I think it’s really over-exaggerated,” he said.

Shades of that "concerned citizen" who wrote a set of DNC talking points to a number of papers including a Spanish translation.

The ‘Ellie Light’ Scandal (CNS News January 27, 2010 L. Brent Bozell III)

The declining (or is it dying?) newspaper industry has suffered another blow to its image as punctilious skeptic. So much for the motto, “If your mother says she loves you, check it out.” It turns out a pile of American newspapers can’t manage to check out the most basic information about people who are flat-out using their pages to push political agendas.

A person with the name of “Ellie Light” has been successfully published with the same letter in at least 68 newspapers defending President Obama – defrauding the editors by using local addresses. Reports have “her” published in two papers overseas.

Who is “Ellie Light”? We know this much: “She” is a fraud.

Is this an official White House or Organizing for America campaign? Is it simply a dirty trick? Is this brass-knuckles (and dishonest) politics from the DNC? Or an unauthorized Obama groupie? Some investigating conservative bloggers have found several candidates for the mysterious “Light” writer that could be connected to Obama.

exactly! I smell an organized campaign that needs to be smoked out quickly.

Apparently, Ms Whisler has a local “reputation:”

From the comments section (so far 24 out of 25 were resoundingly negative):

“Miss Whisler, it is getting a little tiring of you in each and every ‘column’ you write it amounts to nothing more than playing the race card and at worst race baiting. It would be nice if for once you stopped and looked at the big picture. You paint an entire group by the actions of a few. How would you like that if we used that same model to paint the civil rights movement?”

Take a few steps into M.B. Whisler’s Jacobus living room.

An Obama-Biden sign covers a portion of one wall. Barack Obama’s face appears on almost every magazine on the coffee table. Campaign signs peek out from behind family photos. Obama ‘08 magnets stick to the refrigerator.

Take a second look at her outfit.

A pink Obama hat accessorizes an inauguration T-shirt.

If there’s still any doubt about who Whisler voted for Nov. 4, just ask her.

(snip)

Whisler, 60, was born in Botswana, Africa, and has been politically active for most of her life. As part of the Botswana Democratic Party, she worked to elect Seretse Khama to the presidency in 1965 during her country’s first general election. Whisler came to America in 1969 and learned the political system of her new home.

She got involved in the Rev. Jesse Jackson’s first presidential campaign in 1984. She wasn’t sure if she’d ever see another black presidential candidate. In 2004, she got involved in John Kerry’s campaign, which was another disappointment.

Whisler was inspired to become involved in a campaign again when she heard a young senator from Illinois speaking on TV more than two years ago.

Even her husband, Gary, who had never been politically active, paid attention.

Soon, the couple started hosting community meetings at their house. Twenty-five people from all over the region came to talk about a candidate no one else seemed to know about.

The Whislers downloaded information from Obama’s Web site to educate people. They watched his speeches on YouTube. They listed issues and concerns on a white board in their living room.

“No one knew who was supporting (Obama) at that time,” she said. She added that a big challenge during the early part of the campaign was the lack of support from other Democrats.

During the primaries, many people thought that another candidate — Hillary Clinton — would win the Democratic Party nomination, Whisler said.

“A lot of people we knew . . . just kept telling me, ‘you don’t know the United States,’” she said.

But her gatherings grew. More people started to believe. It wasn’t long before volunteers from the Obama campaign visited the Whislers to assign the supporters to different regions.

Then, Obama visited. On March 30, Whisler was the fourth person in line to greet him in Harrisburg.

“When he shook my hand, my whole body just became so calm,” she said. “It was unbelievable.”

She’ll be in the crowd Tuesday in Washington,

D.C., to witness months of hard work become reality when Obama is sworn in.

“I have to hear him say (the oath),” she said. “I think that is going to be the most emotional time in my life.”
