President Obama's Nuclear Naivete
Real Clear Politcs ^ | April 11, 2010 | Jack Kelly

President Barack Obama reminded us last week that before he drives us into bankruptcy, he might get us all killed.

On Tuesday, the president released his nuclear posture review. On Thursday in Prague, he signed a new nuclear arms reduction treaty with Russia.

..The president listed five priorities in the NPR, noted James Carafano of the Heritage Foundation, a retired Army lieutenant colonel. Defending the United States wasn't among them.

The key elements of the NPR are Mr. Obama's decision to eschew the use of nuclear weapons to retaliate against a biological or chemical attack against the United States, and the president's decision to develop no new nuclear weapons.

"In the past, our ambiguity made our enemies hesitate," said Lt. Col. Ralph Peters, a retired Army intelligence officer. "The new policy guarantees that they'll intensify their pursuit of bugs, gas and weaponized computers."

..What's really dangerous is the president's decision to build no new nuclear weapons. Nukes deteriorate with time. They need to be replaced if deterrence is to be maintained

...The unwillingness of Mr. Obama to do anything meaningful to block the mullahs' pursuit of nuclear weapons highlights the absurdity of the START II treaty with the Russians.

He is developing a new weapon. The Blowgun. Cheap and easy to make. Also on the drawing board the Slingshot and Bow and Arrow.

I was just watching Ike’s farewell address (and Reagan’s too) a few hours ago. Ike’s policy of massive retalliation was probably the most useful nuclear posture we have ever had and we need to reassert this doctrine. GW had it right too. Nobody ever doubted his resolve. Obama inspires confidence in our enemies, not fear.

Next step in Obama policy is to hand over a few nukes to our enemies - just to make it fair and balanced.

I never before thought it would. But CFR and Obamacare passage has made me realize most of the responsible adults there are gone.

I don’t trust them as a body.

It dovetails perfectly with “O’s” overall and truly staggering naïveté about absolutely everything else.

If he in fact HAS the education he purports to have… even a cursory acquaintance with historic facts (politics aside) would tell him that voluntarily giving ground to enemies will do NOTHING to assure the safety of the US or ANY OTHER nation on earth.

Could we have a more infantile and puerile boy scout for President?

TIMELINE

“On Tuesday, the president released his nuclear posture review. On Thursday in Prague, he signed a new nuclear arms reduction treaty with Russia.”

And from Friday evening until Saturday mid-morning he was unaccounted for. Now let me think ... what happened Saturday? Where was Pelosi’s favorite pet eunuch?

Absence of key U.S. allies at summit amplifies doubts about Obama’s foreign policy

President Obama is holding one of the biggest global summits ever on U.S. soil starting Monday, but for all the hoopla, the event will be missing America’s strongest allies.

As remarkable as it is, the fact that neither British Prime Minister Gordon Brown nor Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu are attending President Obama’s nuclear security summit in Washington Monday and Tuesday is not altogether surprising.

...heads of state from Australia and Saudia Arabia also are not attending — are the most glaring examples of a floundering foreign policy that treats rivals and enemies better than friends.

“He seems to want to engage rivals, even enemies, more than spend time with friends and allies,” said David Kramer, a top State Department official in the Bush administration.

Just thank God that it wont get through the Senate.

At least I dont believe it will.

Assuming 57 Democrat votes plus one Socialist's (Bernie Sanders), they'll need 10 votes out of the GOP and Lieberman. More if any Democrats defect (which I wouldn't count on).

I'd like to think Obama won't get them. But, like you, I'm far from confident.

We have our Lindsay Grahams. And, more importantly, our Dick Lugars.

One more thought. It is a lot easier to “sneak” Obama out of the WH than it is to “sneak” him back into the WH, therefore, the soccer game LIE was created so he could return unquestioned! Because even those assclowns knew they couldn’t sneak him back in on their own.
