“Obama to Impose Terms on Israel” is the headline you didn’t read on David Ignatius’s column in the Washington Post today. The story ran under the title “Obama’s Mideast Plan,” which Ignatius describes as “proposing an American peace plan to resolve the Palestinian conflict.”
But the substance is clear: It is a threat against Israel by the Obama administration and particularly by National Security Advisor James Jones. (The give-away is this line: “The fact that Obama is weighing the peace plan marks his growing confidence in Jones.” Now who do you think was Ignatius’s source for that gem?) Apparently Obama and his team are frustrated by their inability to get Israelis and Palestinians to negotiate a deal, and have therefore decided we’ll just impose one.
Bummer is going to tell Israel to give up half of Jerusalem to the Moose, and Israel is going to tell him nothing doing.
Obama could get no agreements on Helath Care, Cap n Trade, Amnesty, and he “just decided to impose one” in each case! Does anyone see a pattern here?
This is going to get someone shot, and I hope its not the US citizenry in yet another Dem caused war.
No one imposes anything on Israel, even at the point of a gun.Obama is WAY out of his league, so is Jones.

What I would think Bummer has in mind, is telling the Arab boys they’re free to go after Israel to force it back to the pre-1967 borders, and supplying them with US munitions towards that end. A total treason.

It never ceases to amaze me how American Jews, to a fault, vote consistantly for a party that seems to have every intent on trying to weaken, if not destroy, the State of Israel.
From the few conversations I've had, things are changing. Some are willing to admit that this is not their father's Democratic party.
With the current pResident, the Democratic Party could be renamed the Party of Allah, or Hezballah (i.e. Hezbollah).

You are engaging in foolish talk that brings no credit to yourself or to the Mossad.
I think he assumes that Israel will refuse the imposed plan. The US will then simply fail to veto UN Security Council sanctions/embargoes against Israel. As the situation then deteriorates, an international force will be ordered in to “keep the peace”. This could start as a “human shield” variety, consisting of UN troops. If, as is likely, the Israelis remain intransigent regarding Jerusalem, a more potent force, like the NATO group in Serbia, would be deployed. The key for the Administration is not to move so fast that outrage in the US and in the Congress in particular shuts him down. He’s got to demonize our erstwhile ally in the minds of as many Americans as he can. That will take some doing and some time.
Rahm thinks he can cover his tracks by “getting rid of the evidence”. (”Never waste a good crisis”)
