“National security strategy is a big deal, and when an administration can’t even get most of its senior officials confirmed within 150 days, I want to know how the hell you’re going to figure out how you’re going to manage strategy in 150 days,” Gates said.
Hey, Mr Secretary, wasn’t that one of the reasons they kept you around?
And why can’t the administration get its senior officials confirmed? That particular party had a super-majority in the Senate (until recently), and a majority in the House. How would that be a problem of the American people?
Agree with phrogphlyer - weren’t you kept around to make ‘security priority #1’?

There was a Lib on CSPAN this morning pleading for everyone to not disparage the President on national security matters because it makes him look bad to other countries.
He went on to say it was fine to criticize his domestic policies.
