BS again on this AP story. My Gf works for a Valley hospital in Mexifornia and EVERY illegal alien knows of the 1 program that entitles you to free healthcare/surgery/hospitalization...even before the advent of Obamacare.

If the health care scam law doesn’t allow anyone to check the immigration status of someone receiving care, then by default, illegal ALIENS are NOT “left out” under this scam of a law. I wish these reporters would just tell the truth, instead of cheer-leading for this corrupt administration.

My first response was WTF too but then...geeze, guys, once he signs the huge amnesty bill, the “illegals” won’t be “illegal” anymore right? and we’ll all be wearing the number of the...I mean, the national ID card. Problem solved, working people of all genders and races (that don’t work for the UAW, SIEU or massively bloated Obams regime, that is) hardest hit, but illegals? what illegals? They won’t be illegal anymore. Until the next crop comes along.

Democrats pimping for O./are are right that uncompensated emergency care for the uninsured is driving up costs. What they don't say is it's illegal immigrants who are bankrupting ERs, and the federal government is encouraging them.
Last decade, the Clinton administration added teeth to a little-known Health and Human Services Department regulation mandating that hospitals provide emergency treatment even to illegals.
Under the Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act, or EMTALA, hospitals can't even ask for a patient's immigration status or ability to pay prior to delivering treatment. They also can't keep such uninsured patients waiting, even if their problem isn't an emergency. Nor can they discharge them until they're fully stabilized and have safe transportation. More, hospitals must post EMTALA signs in Spanish and English.
The law isn't limited to ERs. Hospitals must accept illegals at any facility on campus — including outpatient clinics and doctor's offices — located within 250 yards of the main buildings.
Hospitals end up treating uninsured illegals for the sniffles and other nonurgent care, and pass that exorbitant cost on to the insured, the Government Accountability Office has found. What would Americans think, then, of a member of Congress who introduced legislation, not to improve health care in the United States, but to improve health care in Mexico?
Insane? Drunk? Unworthy of public office?
What would Americans think, then, of a bill introduced in Congress that required federal agencies to come up with a plan, not to expand health coverage in the United States, but to expand health coverage in Mexico?
Impossible? Unthinkable? Wildly irresponsible?
What would Americans think, then, of the motives of a senator, who not only introduced a bill to improve Mexico’s health care system andextend coverage to a growing population of 120 million people, but gave health insurance companies the right to help devise the plan?
Blatantly corrupt? Grossly indifferent to the well-being of the American people? Downright treasonous?
Unbelievable as it may seem, the Secure America and Orderly Immigration Act of 2005 contained a provision giving insurance companies the right to help devise a plan for extending US health care to Mexico (Sec. 1004. BINATIONAL PUBLIC HEALTH INFRASTRUCTURE AND HEALTH INSURANCE).
Even more unbelievable, the senator who sponsored the bill was not on the verge of being thrown out of office for this odious piece of legislation. No, the senator who introduced the bill, Senator John McCain of Arizona, was locking up the Republican nomination to be our next president
