Conservative activists in the crosshairs
San Francisco Chronicle ^ | 3/30/10 | Debra J. Saunders

Posted on 03/30/2010 7:45:46 AM PDT by SmithL

When activists break the law protesting Republican policies, it is because lefties care so much. But when conservatives act likewise, it's because they are loudmouths and louts.

So TV tells me. During an interview last week with Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., NBC's Ann Curry observed that former GOP running mate Sarah Palin, who was about to stump for McCain over the weekend, had told supporters "don't retreat, instead - reload" and posted on her Facebook page "a map highlighting weak Democratic districts that conservatives should target with a crosshair symbol.

"Considering these threats, these concerns that we've been hearing about, regarding violence, do you think, do you now recommend that your party use less incendiary language and will you say that to her tomorrow?"

What could McCain do but laugh? The political lexicon long has used martial terms like "target" and "battleground."

Even if that is true - somehow she seemed unsure - Curry continued, "These are very dangerous times. Is this the language that we should be hearing today?"

The short answer: Yes.

CNN's Howard Kurtz got it right when he noted on Reliable Sources Sunday, "The conservative argument is that the media didn't seem quite so concerned with civility when protesters were calling George W. Bush a war criminal and a Nazi, and (using) that kind of overheated rhetoric as well."

Remember when an Iraqi threw his shoes at Bush - and it was Bush's fault?

Kurtz's three media guests disagreed. You see, they said, the right crossed the line. Poor babies; they can't even see that their line is the right.

When the Fuhrer’s taxes hit everyone’s wiped out bank accounts, the Left won’t be able to pour enough perfume on the feces that is this Thug Administration and Congress to hide their treasonous stench.

The Goebbel’s MSM and the traitors on the Left are playing games right now because, even an imbecile, knows the reality of this disaster is coming at a fast pace.

Neither of these statements are true.
Democrats only care about how much money they can steal for themselves, and Republicans never act as bad as the "hate Bush" radicals.
Other than that, I agree the medias bias is more than obvious to anyone with eyes and ears.

I had to laugh out loud at some recent news reports, which indicate that the Democrats and MSM take these metaphors about “reloading” and “targeting” literally.

And the broken windows at Democrat Louise Slaughter’s office was the start of another “Kristallnacht” according to some of them.

Yet the shooting out of the window in Eric Cantor’s office was a “stray bullet”. Since it was officially a stray bullet not targeting the office, it was ignored.

And the news of the arrest of somebody who threatened the life of Eric Cantor is all but ignored in the MSM.

Yet the MSM is fixated on Sarah Palin with gun scope targets on a map of congressional districts being targeted in this year’s elections. And they are getting their panties in a twist about the metaphor of a gun scope picture, and whether it means that people are being targeted with guns.

And these same MSM people wonder why fewer and fewer people take them seriously as time goes on.................

The radical left knows the American people have the upper hand, and right now the radical leftists are fighting for their political lives. Once the American people wake up and realize it is THEY who own this country, the left is toast.
To make it even worse for the radical let, their socialist house of cards is crumbling. They ALREADY HAVE run out of other peoples money.

MSM should be held accountable for everything that is happening, including hiding, holding back and lying to get 0 elected. I wish we could figure a way to make the MSM pay for their treachery. There should be a ground swell from the American public. But, or course, half the country thinks the MSM is just fine and reliable. But, somewhere there is a leftist/socialist running the show. Goofy &astards don't realize that if socialism or marxism comes to the USA, there won't be a need for multiple Broadcasting - only one station will be needed to put out the propaganda. And, the owners of MSM, well, they won't be affected because they are mega rich and have their money safely put in foreign countries.

“Does Leboon’s behavior reflect on all liberals?”

I don’t doubt it.

“Should the conservative media connect Leboon’s threats to left-wing anti-Semitism?”

I believe so.

“Will Curry ask Democrats to tone down their rhetoric lest they inflame more violence?”

No.

The MSM didn’t give a Rat’s ass when Sarah Palin was hung in effigy in October 2008 (just prior to the election). The MSM didn’t give a Rat’s ass when someone threw a tomato at Sarah Palin and missed (that the thrower missed bothered SeeBS-Viacom’s newsreader). The MSM didn’t give a Rat’s ass when someone set fire to Sarah Palin’s church.

There is a campaign of hate against Sarah Palin (the trampy commediane cougar who dated Levi Johnston said she wanted to push Sarah Palin down the stairs) and the MSM gives it all a pass.

When the Right is in power, they basically ignore the violent and destructive antics of the Leftist rabble and let the local authorities deal with them.

When the Left is in power, they seek out and punish any and all who dare to speak against them, characterizing them as sociopaths: haters, racists, mysogyinists, homophobes, etc.

As a general rule, the liberals get a pass on the most outrageous idiotic things that they say and do. Conservatives are held to very high standards, and then called out when found not to have met the standard.

Somebody could write a book about this.

One of my recent favorites was the MSM uproar about Sarah Palin writing notes on her hand, yet, the same MSM says nothing about Obama using a teleprompter everywhere he goes.

"...fixated on Sarah Palin with gun scope targets on a map..."

Palin used surveyor symbols, not crosshairs

Saul Alinsky already did. The book is Rules For Radicals and people like Chris Matthews and Hillary Clinton are on record as being fans of the ideas espoused by Mr. Alinsky.

Well, there you go. I was fooled by the MSM hype that Sarah used gun scope target pictures.

I’m sure the MSM is truthful and accurate about some things, but, if there’s a way to make a political statement on any subject, they will find a way to do it.

Speaking of which, Fox News ratings have been sharply increasing, while CNN and MSNBC have been dropping like a rock. With a liberal president and liberal Congress passing liberal “far reaching” legislation, this should be the best of times for liberals. Why are viewers fleeing networks which give them a liberal world view?

Saul Alinsky already did.

The object is to separate and alienate the Tea Party people. If they can create a fear of these citizens, then people won't want to be involved with them.
That's why they're attacking so hard right now. The the protests are growing, and they're doing everything they can to destroy them.
