As a general rule, the liberals get a pass on the most outrageous idiotic things that they say and do. Conservatives are held to very high standards, and then called out when found not to have met the standard. Somebody could write a book about this.

Saul Alinsky already did. The book is Rules For Radicals and people like Chris Matthews and Hillary Clinton are on record as being fans of the ideas espoused by Mr. Alinsky.

The object is to separate and alienate the Tea Party people. If they can create a fear of these citizens, then people won't want to be involved with them.
That's why they're attacking so hard right now. The the protests are growing, and they're doing everything they can to destroy them.
