Liberal TV lioness Rachel Maddow is demanding an apology from GOP U.S. Sen. Scott Brown for raising campaign dough on scuttlebutt she’s planning to run against him in 2012 - a false rumor that was actually trumped up by Bay State Democrats.
“The idea that the Democrats are to blame for this doesn’t even make sense. It’s ridiculous,” Maddow told the Herald yesterday. “Scott Brown made this up in order to make money off my name and likeness and I think he should stop. And I think he should apologize.”
Maddow, who lives in western Massachusetts, called Brown a “creep” in a planned MSNBC newspaper ad scheduled to run today and slammed him for sending out a nationwide fund-raising letter this week “smearing me to raise money for himself.”

Maddow launched an uninformed assault against Alabama Tea Party candidate Les Phillip, a black businessman and Navy veteran who immigrated with his parents from Trinidad in his youth.
Maddow not only mocked Phillip but alleged he wants,
“To bring back Jim Crow era voting literacy tests that were used for generations in this country to deny black people the right to vote.”

Continuing MSNBC’s sad tradition, Maddow first attacked one of the convention’s speakers: “The opening speech last night was given by failed presidential candidate, ex-congressman and professional anti-immigrant, Tom Tancredo who started the event off with a bang, a big loud racist bang.”

OK, so it was kind of interesting this morning that some people had set up a Facebook page to try to convince MSNBC talent and Northhampton resident Rachel Maddow to run against Scott Brown in 2012 (they’re now 5.2% of the way toward their goal of getting 10,000 people to sign up). It got even funner this afternoon when John Walsh, chairman of the Democratic State Committee, got wind of the boomlet and posted what sure seemed like it was meant to be a private message on the Tweety:
