Joe Arpaio 'Considers' Run for Governor

PHOENIX - Sheriff Joe Arpaio says he's "considering" running for the state's highest office -- and he says he could win.
It's the fourth time Sheriff Arpaio has flirted with the idea of running for governor of Arizona. But he says this time is different.

The sheriff says he's raised plenty of money to campaign for governor -- possibly millions.
If Arpaio runs for governor, he would face off with Republican candidates Jan Brewer, Dean Martin, and John Munger. Democrat Terry Goddard is also in the running.

Arpaio expects to make a decision in the next few months.

Some of the guys I work with expressed some hostility for Sheriff Joe. I told them I didn't understand and they made statements about corruption and being an attention whore and stuff. Didn't stop me from donating twice even before he announced. Just wanted to do my part to support his efforts. I think he's been very positive for AZ in preventing us from being completely overrun. This place elected Janet Napolitano for governor. It's a wonder we aren't part of Mexico by now.

Arpaio expects to make a decision in the next few months. Few months??? Anyone know the filing deadline? The Arizona primary vote is on August 26th.
I'd love to see Sheriff Joe get in the race. Should be a good synergy with JD's race against Juan.

I am here in AZ and even though I am only temporary here, I have applied for drivers licence and registering to vote JUST SO I CAN VOTE * AGAINST* MCCAIN
Electing Sherrif Joe would be another great idea- although I suspect he would be better running the STATE cops
