(Missouri Rep.) Cleaver: Obama doesn't have the votes to pass health care reform (201 out of 216)
Kansas City Star ^ | March 8, 2010 | Steve Kraske

Posted on 03/08/2010 1:45:10 PM PST by Second Amendment First

Congressman Emanuel Cleaver said today on KCUR's "Up to Date" that President Barack Obama doesn't have the votes to pass health care reform in the U.S. House.

"We're not at 217," Cleaver said, referring to the number needed to pass the bill.

Later, the three-term Democrat from Kansas City said the passage number could be 216 given vacancies in the House.

The count today, Cleaver said, is about 201 health care supporters.

That number, he added, could fluctuate significantly as a final vote nears.

Listen to the show, that also featured Kansas Congressman Dennis Moore, here.

Let’s hope it fluctuates in the downward direction.

Every day that goes by, there will be fewer and fewer votes.

So maybe THAT’S why Massa is thinking about staying—fewer reps, fewer votes needed. He stays, it makes it tougher on the left.

Congressman Emanuel Cleaver represents the district that President Harry Truman and Bess used to live in.

Congressman Massa from New York is resigning over the "scandal". He says the Dems are framing him because he voted against the HC Bill and they want him out of office before the vote is taken. SOURCE: Neil Cavuto's Program / FOX News /Today 3-8-10

Unfortunately, our two most populous regions in Missouri are “owned” by democrats and unions, and our capitol is heavily inhabited by people on the government dole or whose aunties and cousins are.

The Republicans would be smart to call for an ethics investigation into the (Massa) alleged extortion techniques the White House is using to the Obamacare No voters, couple this by showing the tricks and strong arm tactics that the executive branch is using for purly partisan political gains.

Investigate, Impeach, Imprison.

Per Lord Acton, "Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely."

“Of all tyrannies a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victim may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron’s cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated, but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.” - C.S. Lewis
