Venables and Thompson were aged 10 when they abducted James from a shopping centre in Bootle, Merseryside and killed him on a railway line, on February 13, 1993.
Buglers body was found by children playing on a freight railway line 200 yards from Walton Lane police station, Liverpool, and more than two miles from the Strand shopping centre.
Days later Venables and Thompson were arrested in connection with the murder of James, and later charged. They were the youngest to be charged with murder in the 20th century.

I remember hearing about how this child was killed. The name of the victim is ironic, as it’s the same name as a serial
killer/gangster from Boston who is or was second on the FBI’s Most Wanted list, after Osama...(James “Whitey” Bulger)
Can you say, “Ted Bundy” in the making? For pete’s sake, he’s already KILLED one person.
MURDERED.
(Was informed last name was Bugler)
oh OK; I thought it was Bulger when the story first hit the news yrs ago...sorry
Its the UK. Their laws are even more screwed up than ours (which says a LOT!). They were charged as children and, once they turned 18, their were released and their records purged. It was only accident that their names were even released.
The UK is currently prosecuting a similar case - but this time they won’t release names. When the perp gets out, nobody will know they’re living next door to a monster...
No, it's not.
I was contacted, also, by Mr/Mrs Happy Helper.
I copied and pasted both the headline and text from the Telegraph's website.
The typo in the text of "Bugler" is the Telegraph's error.
The victim's name is James Bulger.
ah ok
Really. I’m sorry, but I don’t think that someone who is able to murder someone at age ten is EVER going to be a normal person. I suspect that in ages past, someone like that never made it to adulthood as they were likely killed by the family of whomever they harmed.
