Peggy, you're nothing to me now. You're not a sister, you're not a friend. I don't want to know you or what you do. I don't want to see you on television, or read what you write. I don't want you near any conservative conferences. When you see my friends, I want to know a day in advance, so I won't be there. You understand? With apologies to Michael Corleone.

She is still in mourning over the fact that George W. Bush did not hire her as his “whatever” .. probably she expected to be Press Secretary or at least an advisor.
I would suspect it was because Bush didn’t trust her to keep her mouth shut. She proved him correct. She made it abundantly clear that she hated Bush for not hiring her, by writing horrible stories about him.
Poor thing .. she needs to retire.

Axelrod was often defiant, saying he did not give a flying expletive about what the peanut gallery thinksPeanut gallery = American People. These people occasionally speak the truth...unintentionally.

Peggy Noonan has evolved into a fool. The one constant: she loves the sound of her own voice.

Noonan has been all over the map in recent years, I think she's been increasingly incoherent, but I think her praising Obama at the beginning only to hammer him later is a deliberate tactic used by many in the press, and in this case ostensibly on the right to appear fair minded. Believe it or not, I distinctly recollect an interview of Margaret Thatcher shortly after Jimmy Carter was elected President in 1976. She told the interviewer that she liked Carter because he was a "conservative with a small 'c.'" I kid you not; she actually said it.

Peggy is a fullfledged Beltway insider now - she can’t admit she was wrong about Obama and that he is an epic fail.

Noonan is a drama queen, and a New York “moderate”. Take anything she says with a grain of salt.

Peggy is a speechwriter, a poet of politics, a hopeless American romantic. She’s still in love with Reagan’s “sunrise in America.” So when Obama echoed that mantra, she followed her heart, not than her head.

Maybe Noonan just wants to be on the winning side.

Its always politics-as-theater with Peggy. She doesnt really oppose Obamas policies, she is just bored with his act. And that sums it up rather succinctly.
