In today's technological age, it might seem silly for intelligent people to consider a spiritual world where beings we cannot see might exist. Oh it's fine to read books and watch Hollywood movies about the afterlife and spirits that roam the netherworld but that's all make believe, not the real world. In the real world we are taught that reality consists of what we can touch, taste, see, hear, smell, and that the spirit world is for those weak minded individuals who use religion as a crutch to get through the day.
Its possible. That the “spiritual world” is another dimensional level.
So you agree that it is scientifically possible, and not just something that those of faith would or could conceive of?
Once you have been born again, there is no question. A few links relative to spiritual reality of Christ:

More like faith.
I have much greater doubts about the so-called reality of this physical plane, from which we view the whole of creation through the glass, darkly.
I seriously believe the implications of Plato’s Cave, described in “The Republic.”
>>>I read this and it really made me think about the way so many scientists do not believe in God.<<<
That’s “some” scientists. Most of the scientists that I’ve known and worked with not only believe in God, but their exploration of the sciences confirms the wonder and beauty of God’s creation.
Don’t confuse some loud and confused athiests with the whole group.
As I see it, the more I know about the complexity, structure, and vastness of the universe, the more it makes me appreciate God. I’m not alone in these feelings, either.
God is the creator of all that is seen AND unseen!

I think it has more to do with being turned off by dramatics.
For example, many cannot stomach the Old Testament.
Good Post!
thank you for posting this.
I count myself as one of those...
... here’s a non-traditional Christian Thought (LDS), maybe God has both a body and a spirit and can interact with both worlds. As you all know, after his resurrection Christ materialized in a room with his disciples, and when they were frightened, he stated “handle me and see, for a spirit has not flesh and bone as ye see me have” (Luke 24:39) He later ascended into heaven with his spirit enclosed in his body of flesh and bone, while two angles claimed that Christ would return in a similar manner (Acts 1:11).
There are no scriptures saying that Christ ever abandoned his ressurected body of flesh and bone.
I believe that Christ’s physical resurrection was not simply a stunt for his disciples, but that he had and has his glorified physical body with which allows him compatablility and dominion within both the physical and spiritual realm.

As a former materialist, I have found the answer in the Hindu wisdom that God loves to hide himself in His creation, so that we may learn to see past transient things and behold Him behind the veil of Maya.
When Jesus talked about 'overcoming the world', I believe that he meant seeing beyond the apparent creation (what Hindus call 'Maya') to the Cosmic Creator, ie. God, who is omnipresent, yet hidden from ordinary human sight, because we are preoccupied with the physical manifestation.
Another way of expressing Plato's Cave is to liken life to people at a movie theater who keep their eyes focused on the screen, believing the movie is real, and never bother to look behind them and see that the movie is just an image created by a projector. God is the Cosmic Projector, creating the universe from his 'first born' Son, the original vibration from which everything else is made and without which nothing is made. (See John I:1-5)
Just think about what’s hanging around in thin air in your immediate vicinity right this second. Hundreds of cell phone, radio, TV, and wireless internet signals, that are transmitting very real information and emotions, that are in turn having a very concrete effect on the world, and that fairly often take on a life of their own, having much different and greater effects than were intended by the people who (often in response to thoughts that arrived in their heads via this route) originally caused the signals to be created. Just think about someone living 200 years ago trying to wrap their minds around this, and what it would have sounded like to them.
