Then why are you wasting precious minutes and seconds reading and posting on these threads? Your name has popped up a lot lately, saying over and over how this is a waste of time!

I never waste my time reading or posting on threads I consider a waste of time.

Why do you?

These folks went through all the hospital records existing in Hawaii for 1961 and could find no record for a Stanley Ann Dunham or a Stanley Ann D. Obama for that year.

I very much doubt this. Releasing any information, including the fact that she was a patient, is against the HIPAA law. This would make the hospital, and the person who allowed an investigator access, guilty of a HIPAA violation. Hospitals are pretty fanatic about complying with HIPAA - the fines are very high.

If you have evidence that someone actually obtained a record of all births from all Hawaiian hospitals, I'd sure like to see that link. If someone was able to get into those records, I doubt they'd admit it - big time illegal, big time fines, and likely prison time. Even if the patient is deceased, the hospital would need permission from the estate's executor or other legally designated person to release this information.

Threads typically have several times as many viewers as they do posters. Rather than allow Birthers to spread Birtherism unchecked, I consider it to be worth while to point out, for the benefit of the lurkers, a tiny portion of the inherent contradictions, ludicrous leaps of reasoning, historical inaccuracies and paranoid assertions of conspiracies, of Birtherism. I generally make my points with sarcasm, and then urge Freepers who have not drunk the Birther Kool Aid to do something real, like run for office, work for a campaign, volunteer for the local Republican ballot security, or sign committee, and if there isn't one, start one.

I’m not hero. Just a shoveler of Bravo Sierra. But as deep as that is getting on Birther Threads, I could use some new boots. 11 D. Steel toes a plus, but not required.

I think the only way you are going to get the definition of what a NBC is out of the Supreme Court, is to know the outcome beforehand.

The story was printed in The Hawaii Free Press.

It was about an anti-Obama group in Hawaii who networked to find insiders, that means hospital employees, willing to secretly search through 1961 records for evidence that Stanley Ann D. Obama - dead for quite a while - had been admitted to any hospital that year. No records of her being in any hospital in 1961 were found.

Are hospital employees guilty for verifying no records exist?

That story was from two years ago. Good luck.

Just a note here: Hawaii’s Department of Health is violating it own procedures and legal statutes regarding records the public, WHO PAY FOR EVERYTHING, are legally entitled to see.

Obama has not been transparent, as he promised, otherwise his BC would not be missing from his Hawaiian Public School records or from his mother’s divorce records (from Obama Sr.). You do realize that someone was bribed to remove those records? That’s a crime.

I don't censor anything, and don't want to. Unlike a good many Birthers, who openly chortle about how sweet it will be when Birtherism prevails, and they can ban from Free Republic anyone who doesn't share their belief, with no mental reservations, that Obama is ineligible to be President because his father was a British Subject, and because his father was not his mother's husband, but was actually American Communist Frank Marshall,1 and because his parents secretly flew, in violation of then existing airline rules, to Kenya, including crossing the Indian Ocean in a DC3, so that Obama's momma could give birth under third world conditions, and that Obama was born in Canada, and that Obama isn't actually Obama, but an imposter created in the early 1990s, whose background, including family photos, is entirely fabricated.

1. How Obama can not be a natural born citizen if he was born here and both parent were natural born citizens is one of those nuances of Birtherism that escapes me.

Obama - dead for quite a while - had been admitted to any hospital that year. No records of her being in any hospital in 1961 were found.

Again, I sincerely doubt that they were able to do this. I have a vague memory of this being posted at FreeRepublic, and I think several people pointed out there were no sources, just "we checked and it's not there." Several people also pointed out how this violated HIPAA and made anyone participating liable for huge fines. Any employee who did this would definitely lose their job. Also, records this old would almost certainly be in an off-site storage facility, and you bet there would be some security on it due to HIPAA. I believe you that someone claimed this, but I don't believe them without a lot more evidence. I know something of the way hospitals work when it comes to HIPAA, and this is simply not believable.

That story was from two years ago.

The search function for the link you gave doesn't go back further than 2010 for "0bama" and doesn't give any return to do with the issue for "birth certificate."

Are hospital employees guilty for verifying no records exist?

By standard procedure, if they got a request from a source that was not legally authorized to have the record, they wouldn't even look for it. Again, finding records from 40 plus years ago is a big deal. They are paper records, and if the hospital still has them, they're in deep storage somewhere. Some one is not going spend time (possibly days) sifting through cartons of paper to find out the answer is "no," especially when it is completely illegal and it would be very hard to hide such illegal activity.

I admit I know nothing about how hospitals today are supposed to work. But I did at one time have a temp job working with medical records; placing medical information into files and filing them. Seeing medical information about individuals wasn’t difficult.

As for old files, unless hospitals are keeping them in 24-hr guarded storage, I doubt those old files are as secure as gold in Fort Knox. All that is required to access them is the need to search them on an unrelated matter; observing that there is no file for Stanley Ann D. Obama for 1961 isn’t that difficult under those circumstances.

And the fines you’ve mentioned? When I worked in the nuclear power industry the government fines began at $200,000 and that was just for written errors on documents. If the government had followed through on that there would have been no one working in the industry.

You want me to believe hospital employees are neither curious nor have opportunity?

If Obama’s people could get into the State Department’s passport files and tamper with information, how difficult would it be for determined people to access old hospital files of dead people?

Well...Gee!...If birthers are so nutz why not just release the requested documents and information and prove them to be nut cases?

Is it to simply a political ploy to hurt the Republican opposition?

Well...The American people will **NOT** be amused that Obama **WASTED** the resources of the Department of Justice and U.S. attorneys in an effort to make his opposing side seem foolish. He **MISUSED** U.S. attorney time to prevent the release of common documents that millions of Americans routinely release for many reasons.

Obama distracted U.S.attorneys from their important work of getting the “bad guys” at a time when plots were being laid to blow planes out of the sky and shoot soldiers dead on their bases and in their recruitment centers.

Who's the nut here? Obama? Or those who defend the Constitution?

A game of Spot the Looney? OK, I'll play. How about those people who think that it is crystal clear that Obama can't be President, as he was born to an American Mother, and a father who was a Brit? But who can't explain how it wasn't even an issue, much less a disqualification, when Chester Arthur, born to an American Mother, and an Irishman, became President being President.

How about the folks who think that the fact that Obama is ineligible to be elected President is so widely known by Democrat leaders, that Nancy Pelosi changed the verbiage on the nominating papers, to escape criminal liability when he is found out. But who also think that Hillary Clinton, having the same knowledge, tamely acquiesced in being passed over in Obama's favor.

How about the folks who think that Obama was born in Kenya, making him ineligible to be President. But who also believe that his Kenyan birth certificate, the most valuable document in the world, is left unguarded, available to anyone who strolls into a hospital in Kenya and asks for a copy.

How about the folks who think that Obama is a plant, a Manchurian Candidate sent to this country to get elected President, and then do his handler's bidding. But who also think that his devilishly clever handlers had him sit in Jeremiah Wrights church for 15 years.

How about the folks who claim that every Freeper who calls BS on their theories is an Obama troll. Even the Freepers who signed up years before anyone out side of Chicago had ever heard of Obama.

Those are the folks I vote for as being nuts. And they are all the same people. Birthers.

I don't know when you were working with medical records, but ever since HIPAA took effect (2003, I believe) things are quite different. Since most hospitals use electronic records, they now monitor who accesses which records, and you better have a good reason if you're not directly involved in the patient's care. You may remember a few years ago when several UCLA employees got fired for looking at Britney Spear's records, and several more were disciplined.

While records storage may not be Fort Knox, they are secure facilities and it would not be easy to "search them on an unrelated matter." Someone would have to have a reason to get into the correct section, and then spend time going through boxes looking for the appropriate record. There are thousands of boxes of stored records in most storage facilities. It is not like glancing into a file while you're putting it away. The companies who run such facilities are aware of the need to protect the data from just searches as this.

You want me to believe hospital employees are neither curious nor have opportunity?

I absolutely believe they are curious - so am I. I don't think they have an easy opportunity. Files from 1961 will not be onsite at the hospital. They will be in offsite storage. One must make a written request for such material, and it will be tracked. The storage site employee will retrieve it, not a hospital worker. And you can bet the storage site carefully tracks all requests. I am not saying it would be impossible, but it's very, very difficult. For your source to say "Oh, yeah, we checked with all the hospitals and they said 'no' " doesn't pass the smell test.

I have a few simple questions for you.

Why is Obama going to so much trouble to hide **common** documents and information that unanointed Americans **routinely** present for many reasons?

Why on earth would he tie up U.S ATTORNEYS and distract the DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE at a time when plots were being laid to massacre our soldiers on their bases and blow a few hundred civilians out of the sky? ( Yes, I am shouting.)

If the birthers are sooooo nutty, then why doesn't Obama nod to his secretary and prove them to be nutz by Tuesday morning?

The truth is that this is gaining traction by the day. I now see that in some states over 50% of the people have serious questions about Obama’s eligibility. In Marxist California is even 30%. Prompted by Obama’s dubious behavior forty out of 90 representatives sponsored a bill to require candidates to prove their eligibility. These representatives are leaders in their communities, professions, and businesses. It is my bet that a fair number are attorneys.

All of these people are crazy? Really? Who's really crazy here?

If the afterbirthers dismiss half the nation as nutz then it is they who are the true jar of chunky peanut butter.
