In Britain, it is traditional on Shrove Tuesday to hold pancake races, in which contestants run while flipping a pancake in a frying pan. The appeal of the event depends on the potential pitfalls in attempting simultaneous rapid forward propulsion and pancake tossing. But, in St. Albans, England, competitors were informed by Health & Safety officials that they were "banned from running due to fears they would slip over in the rain." Watching a man walk up the main street with a skillet is not the most riveting event, even in St. Albans. In the heat of the white-knuckle thrills, team captain David Emery momentarily forgot the new rules. "I have been disqualified from a running race for running," he explained afterwards.
In Canada, Karen Selick told readers of The Ottawa Citizen about her winter vacation in Arizona last month: "The resort suite I rented via the Internet promised a private patio with hot tub," she wrote. "Upon arrival, I found the door to my patio bolted shut. 'Entry prohibited by federal law,' read the sign. Hotel management explained that the drains in all the resort's hot tubs had recently been found not to comply with new safety regulations. Compliance costs would be astronomical. Dozens of hot tubs would instead be cemented over permanently." In the meantime, her suite had an attractive view of the federally-prohibited patio.
Anything else? Oh, yeah. In Iran, the self-declared nuclear regime announced that it was now enriching uranium to 20 percent. When President Barack Obama took office, the Islamic Republic had 400 centrifuges enriching up to 3.5 percent. A year later, it has 8,000 centrifuges enriching to 20 percent.(continued)

I think a refund is due. False advertising you know. The refund could be paid out of stimulus funds. So, we all get soaked for the hot tub refund.
Looks like a hotel management/builder problem, if the drain problem had something to do with sewer gas. And if so, that would be very old code—not new.
I think it might be more of a safety issue. Because there are a few deaths every year from kids getting caught in the drains of pools, drains are having to be replaced. I wasn’t aware this issue extended to hot tubs... it never looked to me like hot tubs had such large drains that someone could get caught in the suction.
In a state where corruption abounds, laws must be very numerous.

Judging from the compliant drain covers, I don’t see why it would have been unfeasible to bring the hot tub drains up to snuff. They tend to be wide bolt-on gratings ten or twelve inches across that make it impossible to cover with one’s body. The ghastly drownings and eviscerations were real and I can’t see why manufacturers couldn’t have done this sort of thing unbidden back when swimming pools and hot tubs were first invented. It’s so fracking obvious.
I would not put that in the same category as banning pancake-flipping races when it happens to be raining.

The CIA director, Leon Panetta, now cautiously concedes that Iran's nuclear ambitions may have a military purpose. Which is odd, because the lavishly funded geniuses behind America's National Intelligence Estimate told us only two years ago that Tehran had ended its nuclear weapons program in 2003.
I agree, too. It is one thing to describe a condition or situation, but it another to prescribe a solution. I ask this in all earnestness, what can we do about it? How do you disband a nanny state? The only solution that I can imagine is one that hits the restart button on our nation and government. How practical is that? No very.
The hard to believe events such as iran “being allowed” to go nuclear are in large part occurring because the tide is turning aginst Obama and he knows it.
What African American preacher, Rev. James David Manning, Ph.D., said is actually TRUE. The Black man is in league with radical Muslim extremists to bring down the world’s “oppressors” for more than 2 millenia: white society, specifically white males.

Much revolves around the fact that Malcom X took the manifesto of the Black Panther Party (that became the Black Liberation Army) and the plight of the repressed African American male in need of vast reparations abroad. Malcolm X accomplished this by completing THREE extensive (multiple months long) tours of the more powerful African nations during which he met with the nations’ PRESIDENTS and other power elites.
Malcom X met with Kenyan President Jomo Kenyatta on a trip he took to AFRICA in 1964 on which he visited Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. These three AFRICAN countries happen to be nations in which the AFRICAN OBAMA/ODINGA Luo tribe has its greatest representation
Malcom X’s visit to Kenya in 1964 occurred when Obama’s Uncle (on his mother’s side) Jaramogi Ajuma Oginga Odinga was Vice President of Kenya (1964-1966) and Obama’s father Barack Hussein Obama Sr. was a top economist for Kenya’s Finance Ministry (1965-1966).
The President of Kenya at the time was Jomo Kenyatta who today is attributed with running the most corrupt administration in Kenyan history. Kenyatta and Odinga took orders from and their administration was directly financed by the Soviet Communist government. Odinga and Obama Sr. were Cummunist Kenyan government officials when Malcolm X shared his message wth the leaders of Africa.

Malcolm X visited Africa on three separate occasions, once in 1959 and twice in 1964. During his visits, he met officials, gave interviews to newspapers, and spoke on television and radio in Egypt, Ethiopia, Tanganyika (now Tanzania), Nigeria, Ghana, Guinea, Sudan, Senegal, Liberia, Algeria, and Morocco. Kwame Nkrumah of Ghana, Gamal Abdel Nasser of Egypt, and Ahmed Ben Bella of Algeria invited Malcolm X to serve in their governments.
In 1959, Malcolm X traveled to Egypt (then known as the United Arab Republic), Sudan, Nigeria, and Ghana to arrange a tour for Elijah Muhammad.The first of the two trips Malcolm X made to Africa in 1964 lasted from April 13 until May 21, before and after his Hajj. On May 8, following his speech at the University of Ibadan, Malcolm X was made an honorary member of the Nigerian Muslim Students’ Association. During this reception the students bestowed upon him the name “Omowale”, which means “the son who has come home” in the Yoruba language.Malcolm X wrote in his autobiography that he “had never received a more treasured honor.”
On July 9, 1964, Malcolm X returned to Africa. On July 17, he was welcomed to the second meeting of the Organization of African Unity in Cairo, Egypt (OAU Summit 17–21 July 1964) as a representative of the Organization of Afro-American Unity. By the time he returned to the United States on November 24, 1964, Malcolm had met with every prominent African leader and established an international connection between Africans on the continent and those in the diaspora.
In the 45 years that have passed since Malcom X’s assasination (Feb. 21, 1965), the Black Panther Party, the Black Liberation Army, the nation of Islam, and the Black Muslim Brotherhood have continued to spread Malcolm X’s message abroad.
