Winter wilding. Now that's new. Usually these things happen in the warmer months.

Photos for security cameras, apparently:
Here is the shot from the front page of the Simon Gratz High School Home Page. They were football champions in their division this year.

In Post-Moral America this counts as “good clean fun”

Those wacky teens. When they get home, mom can give them a good talking to, over some Oscar Mayer® All Beef Wieners.
Oh, this is Philly. That'd be Dietz and Watson® Franks.

Not a flash mob, a riot.
The kicking in the head deal means this is an urban crime.

One day, very soon in the future, a ‘flash mob’ will cause chaos on the wrong people(armed merchants) and all hell will brake loose(Racism charges,NAACP marches and riots).
Coming soon to a neighborhood near you.

In Japan Flash mobs are more in the vain of harmless pranks. The most aggressive one I have seen was a crowd of 50 or more people running up to a guy hoisting him up on their shoulders bouncing him around a bit then putting him gently on the ground and running away.
It was funny to watch but I am sure the guy was frightened for his life at first and then totally confused when the mob dispersed!

I bet their dad will give them a stern lecture. I'm sure he will, just as soon as he gets home from work.

For some young people this may be "fun", but make no mistake, this can be a tactic used by people who want to cause serious damage.
Just imagine a flash mob event where 500 teens decided to run up the stairs inside the World Trade center on the morning of 9/11. What a hoot that would have been, huh?
The organizers of such a flash mob could be Muslim, but the participants could be stupid Manhattan teens looking for a good time.

Yeah it could be abused but also it can really be a good bit of fun:
This is one of the better ones I have seen: Antwerp Flash Mob
This one is very elaborate with lots of folks shooting the action and they had to get someone at the station to broadcast the music.

I kind of enjoyed reading a while back about a flash mob at an urban Best Buy where dozens of people turned up in blue knit shirts and khakis and stood at the ends of the aisles as though they were employees. No logos, no claim to be employees, no asking other customers if they needed help, just standing around.

I guess I am surprised that there was not looting and vandalism involved, as well as the fighting.

"I bet their dad will give them a stern lecture."Undoubtedly.
When he settles into the armchair after work with his WSJ and pipe, the children will get a stern lecture about civic responsibility they won't soon forget!
