Ann Coulter Refers to Biden-Drunken Irishman Twice in Debate-Biden Attempt to Counter Cheney[Vid#43]

Ann Coulter has referred to VP Joe Biden as a "drunken Irishman" not once, but two, extremely enjoyable times in a debate with former Howard Dean campaign manager Joe Trippi over the Obama White House's reactionary attitude of dispensing Joe Biden to counter Cheney's criticism of Obama's failed terror policies. Appearing as a panelist on Jerry River's (that's Geraldo Rivera to you and me) Sunday night show on FNC, Coulter delivered the spot-on description of Biden in the broader context of his effectiveness and credibility as someone the White House would choose to discredit Cheney. Clearly, Coulter was less than impressed with the VP, and his long, almost endless list of infamous gaffes just lends her credibility about the state of his sobriety as it relates to political debate.

I was clicking around last nite on the remote, and saw Geraldo on Fox.

I changed the channel because I have no respect for him whatsoever and his shows are a waste of time UNLESS Coulter is on it.

Unfortunately I didn't check Her Website over the weekend or I would have known she was going to be on and watched.

My ancestors are from county Armagh or as they say Bloody Armagh. Have you ever read about their most famous leader Eamon de Valera? I won't say he was a fascist, but he definitely preferred them. Ireland was nuetral during WWII as a country and Sin Feinn and the IRA actually supported the NAZIs. When Islamo Fascist comes along, I guess nothing has changed.

Yes, I have read several comprehensive histories of Ireland and its transition into today's era, which of course contained accounts of de Valera. It's a beautiful island, and our ancestral town on Dublin Bay is a lovely small-farming and boating area, but I am oh, so very grateful that my illiterate great-grandfather and his sister (who stowed away) made the trip to Maryland and started over.

Europe has traditionally had serfdom, and it still has a mentality of serfdom -- moments away from the resurgence of islamic serfdom this time. At least our (red) states are still fighting for freedom.

Exactly my point. The name and clan came from Scotland. Scottish Coulters may have settled in Ulster; but the name is Scottish; and Ulster has been since the time of the plantation like a different country, certainly with a different religion and allegiance to England, than Catholic Ireland, which contains the descendents of the aboriginal Irish peoples. Anne is a protestant and it is unlikely that her DNA goes back to the native Irish, but to the Scottish Coulters on her father's side.

You have to remember that, according to some genealogists and historians, many Irish are descended from Norwegians. I heard an historian at the Milwaukee Irish Fest some years back give a lecture where he basically said Brian Boru and his warriors were Norwegians who repelled other Norwegians at the Battle of Clontarf. He got a laugh from the people listening.

As I am well aware. Yet I was referring to the period of time in which clans took names, and towns were named for the clans living there. Coulter, the name, came from a Scottish clan/village. The Scots settlement of Ulster and the incursion of the Coulter clan into Ulster came many centuries after the Viking incursion into Ireland.
