Poll: Tea Party Shows Prospects; Less So for Sarah Palin

35 Percent of Americans express a favorable opinion of the Tea Party Movement

The Tea Party movement has the potential for significant political clout, but with challenges: high negatives, a fuzzy image and broader-than-ever skepticism about one of its most prominent backers, former vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin.....

Yawn.

Among the poppycock:

Tea Partiers are actually viewed more negatively than positively (35 Pos/ 40 Neg). Palin has a worse-than-Nixon esque 37% approval rating, and a clear majority of her own party believes her to be unqualified for President.

71% of all people believe that Insurance companies should be FORCED BY THE GOVERNMENT to sell insurance to people regardless ofpre-existing conditions.

Yes, that's right. According to the poll:

1.) Tea Partiers are viewed clearly more negatively than positively.

2.) Sarah Palin is the most despised political figure in America.

3.) Even Conservatives and Tea Partiers want the government telling insurance companies whom they have to cover.

4.) The public in GENERAL has as great a "strong approval" of Barack Obama as Conservatives have of Tea Partiers.

5.) The public now thinks Sarah Palin is unqualified to be President not by a plurality or majority, but by a 3-1 margin.

Ah yes, gotta love the small of bullsh*t in the morning.......

Regardless, there is a revival of the true conservative movement in America.

The tea party is just one avenue for our voices to be heard, not the only avenue.

Remember what happened after Jimmy Carter's embarrassing presidency......The conservatives swept the elections from the White House through to the House and Senate.

It's happening again, and true conservatives, fedup former moderates, independents and sensible conservative democrats are making it happen.

Boom

Palin stated her position clearly; that the Tea Party is a movement of disparate individuals, who differ on some policies; that they are NOT sheep following a charismatic leader.

Preserving the Constitution is not a cult, it is a duty.

More leftist BS. This time around, the people are awake and responsive! We’re also united and absolute in our conviction. Propaganda ain’t gonna work this time around.

Neal Bortz this morning quoting this poll or some poll that is not liking Sarah. IMHO, his deal might be the fair tax and still with Huckabee on his support of it. Don’t know but he was not supporting Sarah. Says she is a nice lady and all but......

According to this poll

  1. Tea Partiers are viewed clearly more negatively than positively.
  2. Sarah Palin is the most despised political figure in America.
  3. Even Conservatives and Tea Partiers want the government telling insurance companies whom they have to cover.
  4. The public in GENERAL has as great a "strong approval" of Barack Obama as Conservatives have of Tea Partiers.
  5. The public now thinks Sarah Palin is unqualified to be President not by a plurality or majority, but by a 3-1 margin.

A few more findings of this breathtakingly-accurate poll:

  1. Communism is embraced by 108.2% of the American populace as "the right road for America".
  2. Scott Brown lost by 26%, in the Special Election in Massachusettes.
  3. George W. Bush is hated by 10,399,293.6% of all Conservatives. The number is much higher for non-conservatives.

Oh, an ABC poll.

Absolute Bull Crap!

4 Million books sold, and the public is really despising Sarah more and more. They show up in huge crowds to hear her speak because they just can't stand her.

Good Morning, Laz!

I took a look at the PDF that shows the questions. Not too bad.

But the charts are insane. While implying a linear time scale, take a look at the actual dates.

Skewed time frame? One of the classic examples from "How To Lie With Statistics", much-read in the sixties. Can't remember the author.

Anyhow, I have taken statistical psychology, and worked in polling, both door-to-door and telephone, for 3 years. I know how pollsters can build in bias, just by the way they ask questions, and the order they ask them in. I also understand that Marist is one of the few pollsters who still use LIVE interviewers. People are much less prone to lie to a live person.

Here is the important question to liberals: Can you name one political figure who has a larger, more enthusiastic following than Sarah Palin?
No? I didn't think so!

How’d that Rudy Giuliani nomination work out last time?

Bob J is no longer a FReeper in good standing. He now despises FR and all we stand for. His hatred for Sarah Palin matches that of any leftist Obama worshiper. He thinks the Tea Party is a waste of time. He thinks FR is populated by mostly right-wing nut jobs and bible thumpers. He’s now openly mocking God-fearing, Liberty-loving patriots on FR. FR has become a major embarrassment to our good friend Bob. He’s devolving into an anti-freeper. I’ve asked him to leave but he insists on hanging around to poke sticks at us right-wing nuts whistling past the graveyard. Very sad.

It’s amazing how many people confuse Free Republic with the RNC.

The RNC has their own website where you can gripe about the “image problems” the GOP has whenever Sarah Palin speaks or the Tea Partiers gather. I don’t think most Freepers see Sarah and the Tea Partiers as the problem.

No, but he supposedly had the highest approval rating for 18 months of any Republican, and was the run-away front-runner according to EVERY poll.

McCain led both Democrats for almost a year in the very early polling.

Yet Giuliani lost even his home state, and failed to garner any real support at all. And McCain proved little opposition for neophyte Obama.

Perhaps we should stop pretending the pollsters have any grasp of who is, or is not, electable this far out?

The Liberals don't fight Palin tooth and nail every single day because they feel she'd be the weakest opponent in a General Election matchup. Hell, I knew GOPers who picked Dem tickets to vote for Howard Dean several years ago for just that reason - he was the one we wanted to face most.

Liberals fear Palin the most, and with good reason. You won't find a ONE of them taking GOP ballots to vote for Palin. They're terrified, and desperately cling to massaged poll numbers like a person falling off a cliff clings to the last branch. They think that if the echo chamber is loud enough, they'll stop doubting themselves. "If you just bring another poll saying she's toast.....there, that's better.......now her book sales and crowded audiences don't bother me so much......."

Actions speak louder than word, and polls. There is noone they fear more, because noone is a stronger opponent. She'll win, which is why they will spend every second of every minute of every hour of every day doing ANYTHING and EVERYTHING to detroy her until November of 2012. If they really thought she was a pantyweight, they'd prop her up like they did John McCain.
