A law enforcement official says the four men arrested for attempting to tamper with the phones in the New Orleans office of Sen. Mary Landrieu (D) were not trying to intercept or wiretap the calls.

So why were they arrested? Could it be just to get it in the news and discredit this source?

Still, I am curious on what kind of guerilla video stunt O’Keefe et al had in mind that day. The last few were fun to watch! (Apparently the AP article quoted anonymous source saying one of the hard hats had a camera in it.)

I’m starting to wonder. Now, the names “James O’Keefe” and “ACORN” are linked in the MSM. The MSM has made the connection they’ve steadfastly been avoiding.
Now, if a new video were to drop next week...

I would have done this entirely differently and they still wouldn't know what happened. Fortunately I don't engage in such behavior. And NO COSTUMES ~ just wear ordinary street clothes. Plus, RUBBER SOLES. If you are in a wire puller's job you stay insulated at all times!
Maybe they were just trying to find out how much of that $300 million from the Louisiana Purchase that Landrieu was going to put on the Aints in the Super Bowl.
Maybe they were just wiping black shoe polish on the speaker & transmitting cups so that after using the phone Mary would have a black ring around her ear and mouth.
They were looking for information in Landrieu’s office?
I wonder what. Landrieu is dirty and these guys are playing with fire.
They sure made that idiot Bertha Lewis and the media look like fools again.

hmmm, so this probably means that Landrieu or her staffers wanted them out and drummed up false accusations.
This could be ugly for Landrieu.
There was never a wiretap or as far as I read, never even a credible allegation. My theory is that they were trying to steal the log of phone calls kept in the memory of the phone. Or perhaps speed dial allocations. That way O’Keefe can run a story saying, “Landrieu called ACORN ___times...”. TO which the Senator denies and then they spring the evidence.
Now they get a case before the judge in which they will have to promise to behave to stay out of jail and get the record erased. Imagine O’Keefe being made to volunteer at an ACORN or other “community activism” project. From now on he will have to keep his nose clean so he will have to tip-toe. They will win by causing him to be timid and careful.
They should thwart the Fed’s efforts by saying screw you, do the 6 months or so and flip the bird on the perp walk in.
So it was a set up only to show that the queen of the Louisiana purchase does not answer her phones?
