I just drove past there 10 minutes ago and was curious about what was going on with all the flashing police lights.
I did see camera crews out there too.
Northwestern University police are investigating a report of a man with a gun in one of the buildings on its Chicago campus, according to the police Web Site.
The report came at about 10 a.m. Someone reported to police that a man with a gun in his waistband was seen in an elevator on the 11th floor of the Rubloff building, 375 E. Chicago Ave., according to the site.
As of 11:20 a.m., there were no reports of injuries.
The suspect was described as a white man with sandy brown hair, 5-foot-8 or 5-foot-9, wearing a black canvas quilted three-quarter length jacket, blue jeans and a black button-down shirt. He was clean shaven.
Police are advising people in the building to stay in their offices and lock their doors. Chicago and Northwestern police are searching the building.

‘Man with a gun’
Used to be that would be a great title for a Western movie. Now it strikes terror into communities (gun free zones).
If ‘man with a gun’ was met by ‘men with guns’ school shootings would happen less frequently.
This is why I don’t consider open carry. Lots of people will report a ‘man with a gun’ as if there’s a certified psycho on a rampage.
