As recently as early January, Brock Lesnar was convinced he needed surgery to deal with a case of diverticulitis a condition that essentially left a hole in his intestine and put his career as Ultimate Fighting Championship heavyweight title holder in jeopardy. He might be out a year. Or it might be two. Or it might be forever.
The story goes on to describe Lesnar's battle with diverticulitis, along with stating his opinion of the Canadian health care system. I took the paragraph out of the article to show you what he said of the Canadian health care system.
He wasnt excited about his Canadian medical care, comparing it to a third world country where he couldnt get any treatment. Finally Lesnars wife, Rena (better known as former pro wrestling star Sable), sprung him from the hospital, loaded him into a car and while Lesnar writhed in pain, drove 100 miles an hour across the border and into North Dakota. He wound up MedCenter One, a hospital in Bismarck, N.D. There doctors were patient, didnt immediately perform surgery and slowly nursed him back to some form of health.

Brock Lesnar compares Canadian health care to that of a third world country. His wife had to rescue him, driving 100 miles an hour back, because she was worried he might die up there.

You said it.
Oh man, I know that gut feeling. My own intestines have been chopped up pretty bad from it — and although I’ve been a sometimes fighter, I’d never box or fight anything close to seriously again after my last surgery ... too much risk of having one of those suckers burst. Last time I nearly bleed to death internally form it. It’s how Houdini died.
He’s made a very nice transition from college wrestler to Pro Rassler with terrible mic skills, to MMA champ...could have done better than Sable tho’ (rode hard, put up wet)...
Bismarck ND, better than Canada!!
Go North Dakota!!
Wow. The vaunted Canadian system whipped up on by little ol’ Bismarck Daakota.
Thanks for the ping!
Ona them purty ones might nota got him to ND as quick, tho'.
Classy.
he trains mostly in MN, lives in Alexandria(MN),and had been at the Mayo...why would anyone with 2 nickles to rub together take a chance on being treated in Canada?
But surgery is so much more dramatic.....
(Dr. Kildare would love it!)
And back in the '80s when siesmic oil exploration was going big, the saying among the surveyors was "No Dak - NO WAY!" :o)
I guess its all relative...
.
Eeewwwwwww!
.
I was at the eye doctor’s office today, getting my glasses adjusted.
One of the glasses technicians was actually telling this story to his patient, and both were worried that Obamacare could mean there would be no place to drive to get good health care anymore.
I’ve noticed many times in the past year that there are intense political discussions taking place around me in places I’d never expect them, and mostly they are coming from a conservative perspective.
Wow, I hope that is indicative of the whole country. Somehow after Tuesday I think it is.
