A Year In, How Obama Can Turn Things Around Cut your losses, confess your sins, create jobs, and be a populist
By Howard Fineman msnbc.com
WASHINGTON - Life is about choices, and so is a presidency. When the history of Barack Obamas is written, the scribes will look at his decision to focus on health care and to let Congress write the bill. The verdict will likely be harsh.
He used up his political capital and may not even get any legislation, now that Republican Scott Brown, who campaigned against it, swept to victory in the Senate race in Massachusetts.
The health care crusade put the worst traits of a (Democratic) Congress on display: an administration that appears elitist, out of touch and too liberal for independent voters; and a White House that's perceived as being imperious and incompetent a toxic combination.
Voters wanted an in-touch government to offer a helping hand and a guiding light out of the recession not assistance in the form of a confused, massive piece of social engineering.
But in politics (as in life), as long as youre breathing you have hope and another chance.
So, on this first anniversary of the Obama inauguration, here's what the president and his team can do to turn things around:

Obama’s only hope is to convert from Muslim Socialist to Christian Conservative.
To turn things around there is only one course...... start a war
To quote Jim Eason from the 1990s: "Don't Stop thinkin' about impeachment"
Fineman was on MSNBC last night suggesting basically that Obama simply tell more lies, better lies. He should say he’s fixing the economy and somehow get a graph with jobs going up, not off a cliff. Unfortunately, we’re wise to him. And today he’s still blaming Bush, saying that’s why Brown was swept into office, the same anger with Bush that propelled him to victory. Obama’s narcissism and arrogance continues unabated.
It’s amazing how libs see the situation. Check this out from the article:
“Theyve been screwed by the Big Boys in the corporate world and on Wall Street. So Obama needs to pick a real fight with some real enemies try the brokers and the banks. Force the supposedly populist GOP Tea Partiers to go along, or join the establishment of their own party.”
Wow. They really don’t get it.
"Turn things around"? I don't think they're capable of doing that.
To turn things around there is only one course...... start a war
This is what Clinton did.. remember Bosnia? Sadly, if bammy started a war, it would probably be against Britain.
“So Obama needs to pick a real fight with some real enemies try the brokers and the banks.”
If he wants to be remembered in a good way he should pick a fight with the finance chairs in the house and senate. Eliminate Fanny and Freddy and reintroduce Glass Steagall. I might even say something favorable about him.
The solution to bad government is more government.
Government should create more jobs (as if government has any role to play in that). Government should create another commission.
These people are incredible. We are fortunate to have such glaring stupidity to run against.
Another typical leftist reporter hoping to help his heroes with “sound” advice.
Fixed it...:^)
The fact that Fineman uses the "appears" word shows how out of touch he is!
With Obama, WYSIWYG. They'll be no growth, no maturity, no anything. He'll continue like nothing happened, way past being a caricature of himself to some new unexplored place we've never before seen. It will be a long, humiliating 3 years before America can rid itself of him.
Sounds like Fineman’s idea is to have a more positive PR spin for Obama’s ridiculous policy failures. Do these people even know how out-of-touch with today’s reality they sound?
Hell, osamaobama wouldn't even let our military lead a rescue effort in haiti, {the rest of this post has been DELETED BY POSTER} so that I can remain on FR.
