I should have said party, personal considerations and politically expedient decisions. Politics as a profession attracts skunks and weasels. The Democratic party is acutely infested with them. The Republican party less so.
Sarah is an exception. And both parties know it.....hence their fear and loathing of her.
Those that are not skunks are common cowards. Your Romneys Huckabees etc.
We need more Sarahs and less skunks, weasels and cowards.

There is only one principle that counts, it's called republicans must win. Maybe Steele can get Obama to join the republican party to get AAs to vote republican...
Hey, 0bama meeting with Republicans at their recent little shindig is just the beginning. Steele is totally incompetent and needs to be flushed like the rancid turd he is.

Ive always said Palin is just a politician, makes politically expediant decisions and will inevitably disappoint those who believe she is some kind of second coming.More hyperbole from Bob? Okay who on this thread thinks that Sarah is the"second coming"? Anybody? come on, Bob says you're out there.
I have no illusions. To me a politician is a tool and when they dont work anymore you toss them aside and get a new one.
I agree and the politican Sarah has already answered the question about campaigning for McCain. She says she will.
To: Bob J
Yes, lets put party over principle. I should have said party, personal considerations and politically expediant decisions. Last week Bob, you said that it was a good thing if Sarah supports McCain's reelection.
Now you say the opposite.
That's ironic coming from somebody who lectures about principle.

“Refusing to campaign would be an act of disloyalty to the man who plucked her out of obscurity and put her on the national stage.”
Your idea of loyalty(to a traitor) is neither rational nor intelligent.
McCain picked her because he knew real conservatives wound NEVER vote for him alone. He was and is a whore, and a fraud.
DO YOU THINK FOR ONE SECOND THAT MAGGIE THATCHER WOULD ABANDON EVERY CONSERVATIVE PRINCIPLE SHE HAD TO BACK A JOKER WHO ONCE DID HER A FAVOR? IF YOU DO, THERE IS NO HOPE FOR YOU.

I seriously doubt that her national support will dip if she maintains staunch loyalty to Senator John McCain who certainly launched her national career. JMO
Don't be too sure of that. John McCain could well become the tar baby that Sarah Palin will never be able to break free of.
The very fact that it was McCain who snatched her from obscurity to national prominence could be her undoing as it raises questions of a.) "could she have obtained national recognition on her own, based on her own views" and b.) "how much does she owe John McCain in exchange for his selecting her as his VP candidate", i.e., she came out to campaign for his re-election, if she attains the presidency at some future point, what will McCain be expecting in return?

Absolutely.

She owes him a debt of gratitude and being the good and honorable woman she is.... will pay off the debt. okay, so when Sarah Palin does this, she is good and honorable... when President Bush does anything lilke this, he is a weenie who wants to damage the Republican Party... i'm not saying that you yourself have called President Bush a weenie... i'm just using this as an example of some double standards i see here on FR...

Your idea of loyalty(to a traitor) is neither rational nor intelligent. McCain is damaged goods...no doubt about it. But I think... and I'll wager Sarah does to...that he is redeemable and can be salvaged. He has been giving off conservative vibes lately...so who knows.
But Sarah must show real class and remain honorable. That's why we love her.
Disloyalty to McCain on a personal level would betray a lack of class....no matter how politically expedient it might be.
To: latina4dubya
when President Bush does anything lilke this, he is a weenie who wants to damage the Republican Party. There are very few candidates that FR will give their unqualified support. FR never supported GWB 100%. Maybe 70% max.
As Rumsfeld once famously said: "you go to war with the military you have, not the one you wished you had". And that applies to political campaigns also.
I wish we had another Reagan...he was the Gold Standard. Sarah is the closest thing to the Reagan Gold Standard that we have. Regardless if she does or does not endorse McCain.

Palin campaigning for McCain over Hayworth = Bush campaigning for Spector over Toomey.

Palin campaigning for McCain over Hayworth Read my previous posts.
There is no indication that she will campaign for McCain in the primary. Nothing wrong with her doing so afterward, if he wins.
Hayworth isn't even a declared candidate anyway.
To: G Larry
Sarah is a fool if she campaigns for Juan McCain.

I think loyalty is important and I think it would say alot about her lack of gratitude if she shunned him. She won't do that because she has a certain amount of class that others don't possess.
I love knee jerk pronouncements of "I'm through with her" is she campaigns for McCain. People can be so blind and shrill to reject someone because they agree with her 99% of the time instead of 100%. No one agrees with another person 100% of the time.

Disagree. Conservatives are all bark and no bite and Sarah knows it. They lined up loyally for McCain in November and will line up loyally for Sarah in the primaries. Sarah knows that she can take them for granted. As I said, she is a calculating image-driven politician. If you understand that, it all makes perfect sense.
