WASHINGTON—House and Senate negotiators are aiming to strike an agreement by Friday on most issues related to the health care system overhaul, House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Charles Rangel (D., N.Y.) said Thursday.
"Friday, that's the goal," Mr. Rangel told reporters outside of a conference of House Democrats. He said lawmakers want to have legislative text of a House-Senate deal to send to the Congressional Budget Office for cost estimates by that time.
But Mr. Rangel said it is possible negotiators will miss that deadline, and that the talks will spill over into Saturday.
Top House and Senate Democrats, with White House officials including President Barack Obama involved, were negotiating key issues late into the night Wednesday at the White House.

Actually I’m wrong what we do know is that the fed Govt is telling states that they are now forcing the public to purchase something and if they do not they get fined and if not they go to jail.

Not to worry, there are exemptions if you are in a union, or if you are Amish. If you can accomplish both at the same time, you get a double exemption, which will amount to a health care credit, which means the government will pay you to get sick. At least, that's the way I think it works...
Perhaps every Republican in DC could call in sick on the day any business is scheduled on HellCare...
Since virtually no one has read the bill and key issues are yet to be resolved, how can anyone support the bill? Is it a fact that 60 US Senators and 218 Representatives are supporting this bill without reading it? Is this insanity?
Some questions for Ms Coakley to answer sometime between now and next Tuesday should be: Are you prepared to go to Washington as a representative of the people of Massachusetts ( no e necessary)and vote for this bill? Have you read the bill? Is there anything that could be put into this bill that would preclude you from voting for it? Is a representative of the public doing their due diligence by signing a bill without reading, understanding and conferring with their constituents?

Scot Brown dems want to cut Military Tricare could talk about the cuts to the Military's health ins. Tricare then they could too. That we seniors on Medicare use the retired Military's Tricare for Life as our secondary health ins. With cuts and increases in fees to both Medicare and Tricare we are double screwed. Why weren't the GOP front and center telling the seniors about these cuts...I talk to many in the public and they DON'T know about these cuts. Couple that with NO COLA raises for either seniors and retired Military, we will be hit hard.
Which means we donate less to church, charity, etc.
