Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin on John McCain and Republicans
youtube/FNC/Glenn beck ^ | January 13, 2010 | sickoflibs/Glenn Beck

Glenn Beck:”It killed me to vote for John McCain. I voted for John McCain because of you. John McCain is a progressive…...he is for big government, for the bank bailouts, health care, he’s for all of it.

Sarah Palin : “Look what he’s doing now though. He and a lot of other politicians are saying ‘HMMM. Maybe that more progressive road we were on is not accepted by the electorate anymore’ and that’s why you see poll numbers changing. That’s why you see pressure from the tea party movements, from others wanting ‘common sense conservative values ushered back in. Look at what he’s doing now. He’s the one leading the fight against the government taking over health care.

Glenn Beck:”I don’t believe any of these people anymore. When they lost in 2006 because they were big spenders and they violated everything they said they were going to do. That was the time to come out and say ‘I was lost. I got caught lying cheating and stealing. I get it. Then they lost with John McCain. When they come out now so close to an election, why should I as a voter believe them?

Sarah Palin :”A lot of voters won’t believe they have changed in their thinking or the policies they want to see implemented…

She misses the point. Republicans are only opposing these things now because Democrats are in power and they are in minority. This means that you can't use their current behaviour to judge what republicans would do if they were in power again. But we can guess what they would do (not good).

That’s why it is VITAL TO THE REPUBLIC that 2012 sees a genuine, rock ribbed conservative in the WH.

True - they make it very clear that it is not a core belief.

There are still many good, solid conservative Republicans. Maybe all aren’t but many are. You can’t say that for Democrats. All of them are Liberals and many are outright Communists.

Sarah had to walk a fine line here. She can’t afford to alienate the entire GOP from her, and she also has always spoken highly about McCain; but she did not deny he was a progressive, which did surprise me.

I don’t think she missed the point....she is loyal to McCain and she was trying to feint praise him, even though she kinda acknowledged Glenn with his assessment of John being a progressive.......she is loyal to a fault

BTW..some of you say easily you would just throw him under the bus if you were her...but it’s not that easy in reality

Exactly. She didn’t deny that McCain is a RINO. But she doesn’t want to publicly attack him. And I can’t blame her for that.

She’s NOT saying “Vote for McCain.” She’s just not going to say, “McCain is a lousy liberal.”

So, yes, it’s walking a fine line. There’s no need for her to attack McCain, because he has shrunk down to nothing, won’t run again, and people aren’t paying much attention to him any more—or to his idiot daughter. Since McCain is now basically off the table, why should she accept Beck’s invitation to badmouth him?

Some just want to be a “hell with everyone” kind of a attitude and that’s so foolhearted

If not for John McCain we would not have the blessing of getting to know and love Sarah Palin.

So, for all your faults, John, and there are many, I say thank you thank you. Once again you served your country.

I love Duncan Hunter but there’s no way he is a national candidate. Name one state where he received more than 2% in the 2008 primaries. National elections require charisma, not something Hunter has.

I was glad she admitted Republicans were in the past ‘more progressive’ but disappointed that she tried to convince the audience that Republicans had some big change in principle (even though she didn’t say that exactly) just because they are opposing democrats. I require someone who says the Republican party has to change.

While it is not Steele’s job to say anything bad about Republicans (his job is to do what Palin is doing, attack democrats), he was correct when he said “Republicans are not ready to lead”. Palin should have said that.

Hunter has it in spades. Charisma isn’t a fancy hairdo and RINO GOPers tossing you money.

I agree with your take on things... McCain is OLD NEWS and Palin is NEW NEWS... so why dredge up old muck ...?

Sarah Palin can bring millions of Conservative Americans, ‘middle Americans’ and ‘Independent Americans’ to their feet - on to their tip toes... cheering for her (and our cause)...

Sarah Palin has CHARISMA - that old term — that means she can get the vote - all the vote... she can arouse voters, she can bring Americans to the voting booth... Sarah Palin can BEAT OBAMA...

And so far - no other Republican / Conservative politician can even come close to showing they can win in 2012... But - Sarah Palin can... and will..

Sarah Palin is not perfect — she is just more than able to BEAT OBAMA in 2012... than anyone else currently on the scene... plain and simple.

Agreed..but some here for some strange reason wants Sarah to step on McCain and really give it to him when he is so 2008 and now we are gearing up for 2010 and 2012!

Juan McCain is a potential mine field for Sarah, particularly if J. D. Hayworth challenges him. I guess she should continue to be generally complimentary of Juan, but not get into agreeing with specific policies he’s advocated at times. I believe she would definitely be more in agreement with Hayworth than McCain on the typical range of issues. If not, many people have probably misjudged her. She should not campaign for Juan in Arizona (a tough decision that would send a message that needs to be sent).

Yes, but if she were just honest about it, she would state the truth! That is what I am missing about Palin. It’s time to call out all of those so called Republicans for their mis-deeds including McCain (who is by far one of the worst of the lot). If she can’t do that then what good is she?

Yes, was a bit disappointed in her responses... I’ll stick to the Tea Party...
