Administration Says Stimulus Has Worked {2 mil jobs saved!!}

WASHINGTON—The Obama administration, in its latest progress report on the $787 billion stimulus program, said both the overall economy and employment continued to be in better shape at the end of 2009 than they would have been without the government’s help.

The council’s report, the second of the quarterly assessments mandated by Congress, said that in the fourth quarter the stimulus plan’s tax cuts and spending added about 2 percentage points to the gross domestic product, which is the size of the economy as measured by the total goods and services produced.

Though unemployment reached 10 percent at year’s end—two percentage points higher than the peak that the council forecast when the administration proposed the stimulus package to Congress nearly a year ago—the number of jobs was between 1.5 million to 2 million greater in the fourth quarter than it would have been without the recovery plan, the council said.

“Of course, with the unemployment rate still at 10 percent, the American economy is far from healthy,” the report said. “But there is little question that the economy is on the road to recovery.”

I'm ready for Obama to announce that he has cured cancer.

He seems to think that people will believe anything he says.

Reminiscent of press releases out of the old USSR. Just who do they think they're fooling with this BS?

What’s a saved job?

Simple! A saved job is a job that could have been lost but never was and it is measured by declines in job approval polls. For every percent decline in approval polls for this administration, another million jobs are declared saved in an attempt to make things look good. Don't believe me? Call Rahm or David and ask!

“What’s a saved job?”

The porkulous subsidized bloated state budgets.

It just postponed layoffs for a year.

We’re saved...and it only cost us $393,500 per job.

“He seems to think that people will believe anything he says.”

It got him elected, so he’s going to stick with it. Very similar to the guys who keep trying to use aircraft to apply their vocation on us.

And yet, a sizeable percentage of the American public will read this and nod their clueless heads in agreement.

Slightly different topic, but I heard a guy on the radio this morning talking about the financial viability of Social Security and Medicare --

Guess what? They're doing fine! No reform needed! Ideas like trimming benefits, increasing retirement age, or anything else you can think of would be silly. There's plenty of money in the system to handle outstanding obligations.

"What’s a saved job? "

A "saved job" is something that lies resides out in the 4th dimension, in between "carbon credits" and "global warming".

A "saved job" is a job that has not yet been lost to the obama administration. They are getting about as rare as the "hope diamond".

Using the "audacity of hope", all jobs that have not yet been lost are credited to "saved jobs" in obamaworld.

The formula is, take the number of jobs that were around a year ago, subtract the several million jobs that were lost to obama's fiscal policies, and the difference are "saved jobs". New jobs are negligible and do not figure into the equation.

"Saved jobs" can be found under the heading of Ridiculous oxymorons of obamaworld.

The Audacity of a dope .... knows no bounds.

Yeah, Barry O is a real marxist pinhead...
Doesn't he know that he should be undermining our economy with more "free trade" agreements so that even MORE jobs can be downsized and outsourced offshore????
Holy cow... how else are we supposed to make room for all those ignorant, unskilled illegal immigrants they keep letting across our border???
