“You are assuming we’ll be allowed to vote in 2010, and 2012.”

Of course we will be allowed to vote in 2010 and 2012. We just won’t be allowed to count them.

Makes no difference to me.

If your LEO friend shoots civilians so that he can feed his family, then your LEO friend would eventually be killed by the angry American civilians.

...and justifiably so.

It's a matter of values, principles and integrity versus becoming a thug who shoots a gun for a tyrant's silver coins.

You may want to consider making new friends.

Good points, and even better advice.

And yeah, I too feel sorry for the folks in the "big cities", especially on the east and west coast's.

Hmmmmmm. On a lighter note, here's a piece of satire on obama's EO: Whereas Said Barack Obama Orders Up a New Council of Governors to Talk Security Stuff

WHEREAS, the duly-elected President of these United States, Barack Obama, a Democrat, has determined that,

a) there is an insufficient number of advisory bodies among the gazillion already in existence for the federal government in general and said president and his White House specifically; and,

b) he chooses to ignore the existence of the National Governors Assn., the Republican Governors Assn., the Democratic Governors Assn. and the secure telephones within arms-reach of virtually everywhere said president chooses to sit and/or recline, and having duly decided that,

c) one more meaningless advisory body probably couldn't hurt anything, and might actually look good, and, ..................................

Bingo. Americans forget IT HAS HAPPENED HERE BEFORE. Look up the Bonus Army event in 1932. These were WWI vets who were SLAUGHTERED by the FedGov for doing nothing but marching for their promised war bonus, which the Congress didn't think they would actually have to pay, since the payout was 13 years in the future. Best account of this event I have read is in John Ross's novel, "Unintended Consequences."

That's also a good place to get a good account of the Waco disaster in 1993. Another slaughter, this time over unconstitutional gun laws.

Point is, there will always be unscrupulus Fed LEO's who are willing to open fire on civilians. Next time, we have to fight back.

Henry Bowman, where are you?

The majority of our men in uniform will never be loyal to orders that restrain our own.

How much will this cost the taxpayers ?

There will have to be a special "Office of the Council of Governors" with an Adminstrative Assistant to prepare agendas, schedule meetings, take phone calls, etc.

Special stationary, special protection, on and on.

Another layer of bureaucracy, at a time when we should be slashing and burning a good portion of governent costs.

Will they all need to be flown to international soirees, such as the Copenhagen Conference ?

I can hardly wait, truly, for the Federal government to join the State governments in bankruptcy, and end all this nonsense.

Versaille, as in Louis and Antoinette, had NOTHING on these guys (And that loathesome woman Pelosi).

I'm going to the garage to sharpen my pitchfork.

***”More than two years ago I wrote a letter to all 535 members of Congress in which I implored them to find and set aside $200 billion in actual cash - not for “hand outs” in the traditional sense, but rather for the provision of emergency food, shelter and clothing, possibly to be provided on formerly-closed military facilities for up to 25% of the American population for a period of one year or more. They of course ignored that entreaty to the best of my ability to discern, but the reason for it was clear to me at the time and still is - a hungry and homeless population is a dangerous population, and “discontent” when married to an empty belly can easily turn to armed rebellion, especially if and when the “rabble” discern (and they eventually will) that they have been systematically robbed for decades by Wall Street, K Street and 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.”
