Schmidt: Palin has trouble with truth
Politico ^ | 01/10/10 | Jonathan Martin

Posted on 01/10/2010 5:35:37 PM PST by writer33

John McCain’s top campaign strategist said in an interview Sunday that Sarah Palin was dishonest as the GOP’s vice-presidential nominee and that her untruths have done long-term damage to her public image.

“There were numerous instances that she said things that were – that were not accurate that ultimately, the campaign had to deal with,” said Steve Schmidt in an interview broadcast on CBS’s “60 Minutes.” “And that opened the door to criticism that she was being untruthful and inaccurate. And I think that is something that continues to this day.”

Just love the way they twist the facts. /s

Everything they say about Palin is usually a direct reflection of what is wrong with them.

Criminally Biased Scum.

Surely you're not insisting that they're not journalists of the highest order. Are you? LOL!

The man who should speak up now is McCain.

He should say: "If anyone has trouble with the truth it is Mr. Schmidt. I would never consider hiring him again."

Let's see what Juan does.

I really believe that the McVain campaign didn’t have a clue as to who they were getting when McVain picked Sarah Palin. They were expecting a”be seen but not heard” church mouse kind of woman who would fade into the background so Johnny-boy could shine. They grossly underestimated Sarah’s intelligence, her common sense and her down-home populist appeal that drew conservatives to her in droves. It was not long before conservatives like me were saying, “drop McVain and put Sarah at the top of the ticket”, as the McVain crowd went ballistic. They need to face up to the fact that McVain lost the election for the Republican ticket, not Sarah.

Yeah, he had a hard on for the gay agenda re: the GOP as well.

I’m sure everyone remembers all the back and forth from the Romney campaign, to McCains.

Oh, another thread:

Thanks, onyx. I try to expose them for who they are by posting their own words.

Obama is nothing but a arrogant, clueless phony propped up by the media.

Schmidt is part of the one-party system. The BCS politicos trying to maintain their monopoly by freezing out the mid-majors. POS.

Schmidt is a prostitute who can’t talk about the successful campaign he helped to run or the winning strategy! The ONLY reason anyone is interested in Schmidt is because he wants to shovel dirt on the only bright spot in a doomed campaign.

Frankly, if it comes down to trusting Sarah Palin vs. Steve Schmid, Sarah has my vote hands down.

I really believe that the McVain campaign didn’t have a clue as to who they were getting when McVain picked Sarah Palin.

Matthew Continetti has more on this in his book. Palin was fully vetted by A.B. Culvahouse. McCain, Mark Salter and Schmidt knew everything.

However, in their zeal to "one-up" the press on the VP pick, they kept the choice and all the background info secret from everyone else on the campaign staff. Nobody else knew anything about her and when the press started their feeding frenzy, the campaign was helpless to respond.

A screw-up from the get-go.

Agreed. I’d believe Sarah far more than Schmidt any day.
