Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney (R) said Tuesday that he'll decide whether to run for president in 2012 sometime after this fall's midterm elections.
Romney, a 2008 Republican candidate for president and rumored 2012 contender, told Fox News in an interview to air Wednesday that he and his wife would give thought to a second presidential bid in a few years.
"It's always a possibility, and you keep the options open, but, you concentrate on the task ahead, for me that's trying to get some good people elected in 2010," said Romney during a "Fox and Friends" appearance. "And, I know once that's done the next item on the agenda is what's 2012 going to be; and, Ann and I will give that some thought and make the decision then.
Romney has stumped for plenty of GOP candidates since dropping his 2008 presidential bid, and has managed to stay on the national radar since then, where he's criticized President Barack Obama.
He voiced more of that criticism on Fox, where Romney suggested Obama had governed to the left of what the president had promised as a candidate.
"I had higher hopes for him," Romney said. "I knew he was a smart individual I thought that he would learn that governing from the middle was the right way to go, as president Clinton learned his second term, but he's made a lot of the mistakes that ideologues often do, which is thinking that everybody in the country voted for their extreme agenda."
Romney will swing through Iowa as part of a tour to promote his new book, something former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R), another potential 2012 candidate, did late last year. Romney had some kind words for his potential adversary on Fox.
"I don't know what her plans are but my expectation is that she'll stay in the Republican party," he said. "Look, she's a great, energizing member of the party. She has good ideas that have galvanized a lot of support for the party and she's a welcome addition.
Let me help you, Mr. Romney. FORGET IT!!!!!!!!!!
MITT save us all the energy to DEFEAT YOUR LEFTIST BUTT..
SAY NO ... NOW!!!
One leftist complaining about the purity of leftism of another leftist. Pretty amusing.
Perhaps Willard will top his spending per vote in 2012. ;)
Romney wont quit. Even if you beat him with a baseball bat, he’s so far off the range he thinks he can win over Obeyme in a landslide.
Romney, why not wait to see how that book tour of yours goes. If less than 10 people show up and 5 of them are your boys, you may want to rethink running for President.
Not again...please not again. Isn’t there some business deal somewhere just waiting for him?
GO AWAY!!!!
Just say no to RomneyCare
**hes so far off the range he thinks he can win over Obeyme in a landslide.**
Only problem with that statement.. after four years of FUHRER OBAMA... IF there IS an election.. a Trained CHIMPANZEE will be able to beat Der FUHRER!
and MITT is BARKY LITE.. he did to MA healthcare what BARKY wants to do to the rest of us..
He will NOT be getting my vote .. even if he is the nominee.
So Willard is going to help Republicans get elected in 2010. What a jerk.
And it seems to me,
You live your life,
Like a finger in the wind.
Never knowin’ where to turn to,
When the votes come in.................
Your 15 minutes are up Mittster.
This statement tells you everything you need to know about Romney.
Just say no to all RINO’s!
Romney backstabbed plenty of GOP candidates.
The Palmetto Scoop reported: "One of the first stories to hit the national airwaves was
the claim of a major internal strife between close McCain aides and the folks handling his running mate Sarah Palin."
"Im told by very good sources that this was indeed the case and that a rift had developed, but it was between Palins people and the staffers brought on from the failed presidential campaign of former Gov. Mitt Romney, not McCain aides."
"The sources said nearly 80 percent of Romneys former staff was absorbed by McCain and these individuals were responsible for what amounts to a premeditated, last-minute sabotage of Palin."
aides loyal to Romney inside the McCain campaign, said The Scoop, reportedly saw
that Palin would be a serious contender for the Republican nomination in 2012 or 2016, which made her a threat to another presidential quest by Romney.
Erick Erickson, who organized Operation Leper, said:
"These staffers are now out trying to finish her off
.hoping it would ingratiate themselves with Mitt Romney."
Who benefits most from Sanford meltdown? Californian (that's right) Mitt Romney
"Peeking Out From the McCain Wreckage: Mitt Romney"
"Someone's got to say it: IS MITT ROMNEY RESPONSIBLE FOR OBAMA'S VICTORY?"
"Vanity: Team Romney Sabotaged Palin and Continuing to Do So?"
"Romney Supporters Trashing Palin"
"Romney advisors sniping at Palin?"
Poor sport spoiler Romney attacks other GOP candidates:
Novak: "Fred Thompson drop-out rumors traced to Romney campaign"
Just like when he told Chris Wallace in Aug '07 that he NEVER considered himself as "pro-choice"....which means he must have thought...
...attending Planned Parenthood fundraising parties (as he did in the early 1990s)
...sending checks to Planned Parenthood (as his wife did in the early 1990s)
...trying to "out-abortion" opposing candidate Teddy Kennedy in his rhetoric ('92)
...soliciting pro-abortion voters guide distributors (as he did 2002)
...being in favor of embryonic stem cell research (as he was in 2004 and returned in Dec 2007 in his infamous Katie Couric interview)
...and passing pro-abortion healthcare in the Bay State...
...well, apparently all this was "pro-life" Mitt activity!
(No wonder some call him the Mythster!)
Instant Romneytown. Just add koolaid.
