Do they think we are really this stupid or have their sophomoric brains. The morons are running the country. I hope the people of this country don’t even put one minute of thought in this dribble.

I believe the sentiment of wanting to be laid off is real, and widespread. THIS is the fruit of socialism, it is depicted in many works of fiction, they just now come to life before our eyes

True...it is also the fruit of the "nanny" mentality prevalent in our society, from kids getting a just-made-it 'D' instead of the 'F' they earned and criminals getting a slap on the wrist for violent crimes to banks getting bailed out for making bad investments and mortgagors getting help paying off loans they never should have sought.

The lesson imparted is that there is always a safety net, no matter what. But I'm a self-employed white guy who tries daily to respect myself and others, so I'm probably just being bitter.

RE: “Look around.. You don’t see many females losing their jobs do you? Would be interesting to see how many Freeper’s friends and relatives who’ve lost their jobs are male vesus female.”

***************

BF lost his job 1.5 years ago and has not gotten more than temp type work since — he’s an accountant — but this is So. Cal. and unemployment is HIGH — really high.

Long-term substitutes I know in L.A. Unified Schools were laid off due to lack of funds and favored treatment to full time teachers who had lost jobs. Long story and convoluted, but the subs I know who are not working now are male —

Most other people I know who have lost jobs are male, too. I am female and unemployed by choice so am not on any ‘dole’ at all and just enjoying early retirement on my own saved funds. Going to Tea Parties and such and making my anti-Obama stances known is a full time job for me now.

2010 is here — let’s make the most of it if you all know what I mean!

I would say it HAS been harder job-wise for males around here to retain jobs the past year or so. Just my $.02

1930’s “Soup Line” equals Obamite’s “Consomme Confab, with the Emphasis on ‘Fab!’”

Those men shuffling along in those lines were ‘networking.’

Which brings me to my question - Will this health care thing help with a sex change? I’m hoping so because I’m not getting any sex and I’d like that to change. This talk of women getting laid off reminded me, you see.

Good luck with that.

This COBRA health care subsidy is interesting though. I thought it would run out this month for me. But it turns out it was extended in the military spending appropriations bill. I try to follow the news and government spending, but this was news to me. This is good in the short term for me, but not so good for the working folk. I would say that we will all have to pay for it, but I think the dollar is going to collapse soon anyway.

These people are just plain dumb. Maybe sitting on their fannies all day instead of actual investigation has caused their pea sized brains to settle there.

Look around.. You don’t see many females losing their jobs do you?

What planet are you speaking of?

I've laid off 60% of my staff, affecting men and women equally.

since the gubberment likes to subsidize slackers

That’s why oBOWma is promoting suck-a$$ unions, nothing like having to give some thugs your money so they can protect the worthless folks on the job.

Yep. My wife and I were even joking about wanting be laid off a year ago when the economy tankes. Tell you what though—as things get worse, I’m happy to have a job.

It’s the corruption around us that is festering this. You see people scamming the system doing nothing all day getting ahead, while you are working hard to make ends meet at some job you may not even like. All these years you tell yourself, well, with a good work ethic I’ll put away a little nest egg.

But then the value of your house collapses. Your 401k tanks. Your taxes go through the roof. Acorn gets millions and we get hosed. At some point you wanna just say “screw it”—go on the public dole at finally take some time for yourself. It’s a natural reaction.

I feel this recession at home too. I have grown children that are getting much too comfortable with the extended time at home. Out of 10 possible jobs between them and their spouses, they have 4. Three are on food stamps, one on unemployment and two are on full dependence on others.....the state dole. The lack of shame and drive from them frightens me to death. Today the UE pays nearly 400 a week. If I were 25YO, I could have lived quite well on that. Back in the day, I remember getting $122 a week. Think about that, you can receive over $20,000 a year for not working, add in food stamps of $2,400, full medical worth at least $3,000, and the govt pays quite well. Hey, if my son in law goes to work early in the year long enough to reach the bottom limit of the earned income tax credit, they will be able to rake in close to $5,000 more in a lump sum on taxes, and refill his unemployment eligibility....WHO NEEDS WORK??
