25 Brits in jet bomb plots (returning Yemen to UK early 2010-await instructions)
The Sun ^ | December 27, 2009 | ANTHONY FRANCE Crime Reporter and ALEX WEST

COPS fear that 25 British-born Muslims are plotting to bomb Western airliners.

The fanatics, in five groups, are now training at secret terror camps in Yemen.

It was there London-educated Umar Abdulmutallab, 23, prepared for his Christmas Day bid to blow up a US jet.

The British extremists in Yemen are in their early 20s and from Bradford, Luton and Leytonstone, East London.

They are due to return to the UK early in 2010 and will then await internet instructions from al-Qaeda on when to strike.

A Scotland Yard source said: "The great fear is Abdulmutallab is the first of many ready to attack planes and kill tens of thousands.

Al-Qaida member in Yemen issued bomb threat ahead of botched Christmas operation
Star Tribune (AP) ^ | December 27, 2009 | JOSEF FEDERMAN

CAIRO - An Al-Qaida operative in Yemen threatened the United States and said “we are carrying a bomb” in a video posted online four days before the botched Christmas Day attempt to blow up a Northwest Airlines flight.

The video does not contain any clear evidence that the speaker was anticipating Friday's attempt, but it has attracted scrutiny because of reports that the bombing plot may have originated in Yemen.

Sermon at church last Sunday was how one cannot keep the truth from coming out. Sooner or later it will be exposed and all the cards come tumbling down. He even used Tiger as an example...and I was thinking about BO all the time the preacher gave his message.

Ok, this is probably too obvious for government work. However, if “intelligence” knows who the 25 “trainees” are and will be monitoring them upon their return, why not just terminate them on sight ?

For that matter, if they’re running training camps in Yemen why are these camps not becoming closely acquainted with our air strike capability ?

Napolitano's attempts to cover-up the bomber's clear ties to AlQaida and Obama's wishy washy response (he's still on vacation) suggests they know much more about this than they want anyone else to know.

No wonder the Leftwingtards in the regime wanted to ban waterboarding so bad.

Napolitano On Failed Terror Attempt: “The System Worked”

//

MR. ROBERT GIBBS: Well, David, as you mentioned, he’s been briefed very regularly by national security staffers that are with him in Hawaii and has been involved with conference calls to and from the Situation Room since we first learned of this incident on Christmas Day. I’d say the two priorities that the president has right now, first and foremost, ensuring the safety and security of the American people and doing everything that we can and continue to do everything that we can to make sure that that’s happening. And secondly, David, he’s asked for two different reviews to be conducted, which you heard Secretary Napolitano mention. First, digging into this listing—the listing procedures that she talked about, figuring out if the information that the U.S. government had was used properly. But also, to go back and look at the protocols for how listing is done that, as the secretary mentioned, in some cases there are several years old, and ensure that we’re using all the information that we have properly. She mentioned a list of 550,000 people. There’s a smaller list of 400,000 people of which this Selectee list that you mentioned, and the No Fly list, are drawn from. Those two lists encompass about 18,000 people. So you can see there are a series of database universes that list people that are of some concern to several agencies across the government. We want to ensure that information sharing is always happening as it should. And I think secondly, a review to ensure and figure out why a, an individual with the chemical explosive that he had on him could get onto an airliner in Amsterdam and fly into this country. So a listing review and a detection capabilities review so that we can look, going forward, about what has happened now in the past.

Each of the "trainees" has a support team already in UK. The "trainees" are getting the orders for the others.

Only way the Brits are going to know who's in the support teams is to let the "trainees" return to contact them.

Leastways that's the theory.

In reality the AlQaida planners in Yemen have already laid down the orders in discussion boards on the internet. All the "trainees" are going to do is direct the support team members to those sites.

The system is pretty much a knock-off of the old "orders of the day" code books ~ Every day you'd check out a new booklet (a sheet cut into 4 pieces and bound) that had quick conversion tables. You'd hand that back in to the Crypto clerk the next day and he'd drop them in the burn bag. There were also weekly code books, and "other stuff".

The system works, kind of, but AlQaida has been forced to deliver its messages in the open ~ the deal is they have thousands of sites so higher levels of intelligence have to tap into all of them and interpolate the material.

The code address for 9/11 was GREEN GREEN BROKAW. A net search for just that phrase would take you to a website on a server in the Detroit suburbs. There was an advertising section ~ there you could find flying schools that would teach you to fly large commercial aircraft ~ or agricultural pesticide sprayers.

Rent a room in Boca Raton. Visit North Carolina university towns or Northern Virginia, or New Jersey, and so on.

Truly interesting site.

The problem is that we have an administration who would find someone even less capable and concerned with the safety of Americans.

I agree with Michelle Malkin, Terrorists seem intent on bringing down more planes. We need real changes (such as profiling), not just cosmetic ones designed to make us feel good. The first airplane they bring down after all of this will cause such avoidance of air travel, it will devastate our airline industry possibly beyond repair as no one will trust present airliine security again. They need to do the right things NOW!!!!.....not after a tragic act of terrorism. Greta Van Sustern had it right, taking away pillows and blankets is ridiculous because people wear coats on airplanes, which also cover people up.

U.S. Quietly Takes Terror War to Yemen, a Qaeda Stronghold

By ERIC SCHMITT and ROBERT F. WORTH
Published: December 27, 2009

WASHINGTON — In the midst of two unfinished major wars, the United States has quietly opened a third, largely covert front against Al Qaeda in Yemen.

A year ago, the Central Intelligence Agency sent many field operatives with counterterrorism experience to the country, according a former top agency official. At the same time, some the most secretive Special Operations commandos have begun training Yemeni security forces in counterterrorism tactics, senior military officers said.

The Pentagon is spending more than $70 million over the next 18 months, and using teams of Special Forces, to train and equip Yemeni military, Interior Ministry and coast guard forces, more than doubling previous military aid levels.

As American investigators sought to corroborate the claims of a 23-year-old Nigerian man that Qaeda leaders in Yemen had trained and equipped him to blow up a Detroit-bound Northwest Airlines jet on Christmas Day, the plot casts a spotlight on the Obama administration’s complicated relationship with Yemen.

Indeed. Hunt them down and "disappear" them.

They should revoke the citizenship of anyone provably connected to terrorism and then refuse to let them in the country. And we shouldn’t be giving visas to people who fit the (gasp) profile.

But of course, we know where Al Presidente stands concerning the Muslims - right with them - and he told us this before he got elected. Stupid Stupid voters!
