Rasmussen Reports ^ | December 26, 2009 | Scott Rasmussen

Posted on 12/26/2009 10:21:52 AM PST by Zakeet

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll, released Thursday, shows that 27% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Forty-three percent (43%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -16 (see trends).

Check out our review of last week’s key polls to see “What They Told Us.”

The Presidential Approval Index is calculated by subtracting the number who Strongly Disapprove from the number who Strongly Approve. It is updated daily at 9:30 a.m. Eastern (sign up for free daily e-mail update). Updates are also available on Twitter and Facebook. Rasmussen Reports will not conduct telephone surveys again until Sunday. The current numbers reflect the final update until Monday. However, the Rasmussen Reports web site will be updated every day. Check out the home page for the latest.

Overall, 44% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the President's performance. The President’s overall approval has stayed between 44% and 46% every day for thirteen days. Prior to that, it had stayed between 46% and 50% every day for more than two months. Fifty-six percent (56%) now disapprove of the President’s performance.

Nice trend line for the Wee Wee. Approval should hit about 10 percent just in time for the 2012 election.

Some discussion as to whether or not Obie was notified in a timely manner and whether or not he was even accessible for a couple of hours after the incident.

If it turns out he wasn't notified and wasn't even accessible, his average ratings could readjust closer to -20.

Oh, can't wait for Dick Cheney to weigh in.

He would be minus 50 if more people had their heads screwed on right.

The strongly disapproval number is always the misleading one here, his total disapproval is actually 56%, thats the important figure here and 44% approval.

People are feeling slightly joyous from the Holidays. Wait until the high wears off.

Oh, and when they are trying to get money for bills and get to see all the nice photos of Obama in paradise.

Yep. Sadly, I saw at Christmas once again how ill informed people are. I had to inform one family member at Christmas about the quadruple cop killing in Seattle, among other things (like Obama not going to church). This is an otherwise smart person, but too absorbed with unimportant crap to pay attention to what goes on in the world around her. Ask about the prime time crime shows, though, and get all you could not want to know and more.

43% Strongly Disapprove versus only 44% of voters overall Approve, plus 56% overall Disapprove for 0bozo means this POS is history.
No way this clown is reelected with such abysmal numbers.
Meanwhile with such terrible numbers for 0bozo, the Democrats are going to get slaughtered in 2010.

What gives?

What gives is just the normal sampling error that you get when you poll maybe a thousand people and try to project what 300,000,000 are thinking. What counts are the average polling data over longer periods and the trends that they show. Take a look at markomally's 10 day moving average or my 60 day average and you will see the trends much more clearly. Dont' worry yourself to death about the day to day fluctuations. Watch the month to month change. That tells the tale.

Here are my 60 average plots from a day or two ago. Each point on the plots represents the average value for the previous 60 days. The averages for the first 60 days after January 21, 2009 are simply the average of all the previous days. After about late March all points are 60 day averages. You can see that the trends are clearly and consistently going against Obama. That's what counts.

...

The real poll has him at -56% disapproval. I think that’s the only number that matters, and it’s slowly going our way.

I don't think you'd see anything in this poll regarding the Health Care bill passing.

But, your point is a good one in that it will be interesting to see if 0’s numbers trend more negatively as a result.

Bread and circuses to distract the populace.

And TV and Internet have become the current opium of the masses.

Some examples of our midern day Bread&Circus. Many fall into one group or another:

Beer and the NFL
Prime time TV and Haagen-Daz
Internet porn and pot

That 27% is made up of the 13% of the population that is black and would support obama no matter what. The other 14% are the white moonbats and various other minorities on welfare.

This isn’t Dec 26 results, it is Dec 24th results. And the same page will likely be repeating with an automatically updated date ticker through the holidays. Rasmussen shut down this poll for 4 daysr Thanksgiving and I suspect will not poll it again until next year, click the “Trends” link to see better. Annoyingly, like last time, they don’t post anywhere that they are on break or when they’ll be back
