On December 20, 2009 Republican Senator Tom Coburn of Oklahoma said before Congress: "What the American people ought to pray is that somebody can't make the vote tonight. That's what they ought to pray. So that we can ... get the middle of America and the middle of the Senate a bill that can run through this country and actually do what we say we all want to do." Although no particular individual was named, it was an attempt to express disapproval for the overwhelmingly Democrat-supported H.R. 3590 Health Care Bill our Government wants to push through Congress before Christmas.
Some people believe Senator Coburn's remark was aimed at Democratic Senator Robert Byrd from West Virgina. Senator Byrd is 92 years old and not in the best of health.
When Democratic Senator Dick Durbin from Illinois took the microphone, he expressed his concern for Coburn's remarks saying "this statement troubles me and I'm trying to reach him to come back to the floor and explain exactly what he meant." Coburn did not return to expound further.
92 year old Sentor Byrd was later wheeled into the chamber, shortly before 1 a.m. Monday morning. He of course voted for the health care proposal, then perhaps in an act of defiance or exhuberance proceeded to pump his fist into the air.

It would suit me just fine if KKK Byrd, Dick Durbin, and all the the demos couldn’t make it.
I’m surprised at the reaction from the Left. They don’t believe in God, and ceratinly not in prayer.
Why the fuss?
To quote Sen Tom Coburn, R-Okla: This process is not legislation. This process is corruption.
Also according to the U.S. Constitution’s Ninth Amendment, it is UNCONSTITUTIONAL.
The Enumeration in the Constitution of certain rights shall be construed to deny or disparage other retained by the people.
When I am denied my right to contract with my doctor for healthcare, my constitutional rights have been denied.
What will the Supreme Court decide.
What is a prayer worth?
While the rest of you pray, I’ll be swinging for the fences...
I’ll be struggling to get a longarm.
Pray that we do not get swept up by the ungodly federal health care plan. This legislation is tainted with Hellish intentions and we should refuse to participate.
Michele Bachmann was in the fore.....
We are so close to endgame. I think the passage of this bill may be the final nail in the coffin. I’m hoping against hope that some of the more conservative state governors are meeting on the sly and discussing the “unspeakable option” - drafting articles of secession. That might be the only option left to avert massive bloodshed.
haha ... well, sadly enough there are many church-going, God-believing people who pray on the left ... I don’t know how their conscious doesn’t bother them, but somehow they are blinded to certain issues
I really like that woman ...
some prayers are worth more than others
Been praying for months.
I pray everyday several times.
Another proud “fister”.
What endgame, who's coffin?
Defeat is not an option. Get ready.
It’s one of Alinsky’s rules - the one about holding the enemy to their own principles.
*Yawn*
Yes! We need to pray to God Almighty, that this plan of the Devils’ soul damned, is defeated.
But would someone please explain to me how the deal cut for Nelson’s vote, excluding the people of his state, from being equal under this future law, does *not* make the DeathCare Bill, and the Super Majority veto, that the Herodi-tes, want to make sure their death panels cannot be removed...a Bill of Attainder?
