ISLAMABAD, Pakistan Parts of the Pakistani military and intelligence services are mounting what American officials here describe as a campaign to harass American diplomats, fraying relations at a critical moment when the Obama administration is demanding more help to fight the Taliban and Al Qaeda.
The campaign includes the refusal to extend or approve visas for more than 100 American officials and the frequent searches of American diplomatic vehicles in major cities, said an American official briefed on the cases.

Alot, Alot of Cash, and now that we project weakness, it’s a win win for those guys....
They need to be paid in lead, or during this holiday season, something that says: “ Let it glow, let it glow, let it glow!”
Am I the only nut who thinks instead of wasting soldiers lives in Afghanistan we should invade Pakistan, take over their government and seize control of their nukes?
No, I think it has criossed a lot of our minds. If something isn’t done, there may be a nuclear exchange with India..
No, I think it has criossed a lot of our minds. If something isn’t done, there may be a nuclear exchange with India..
Hmmm. They didn’t do that when Bush was president.
This is but one result of having a wussy-in-chief.....
These are probably Islamist elements. They have heard 0’s message loud and clear: “I am your bitch.”
I’ve been saying that for quite some time.
Since 9/11, we have given Pakistan roughly $10 billion dollars in aidand likely billions more in covert assistance. Roughly 75% of this aid has gone to reimbursement of counter-terrorism expenses and other security assistance.
Nice to see you back.
Haha, wow, Barry Hussain Soetoro’s really doing a great job curbing the activities of the Pakistani jihadi-compromised military and intelligence services.
Great job, O! Two thumbs up!
Quite the contrast from the bad, bad, Bush days, when the Pakistanis were so scared of us that they gave us whatever we wanted without payment, instead of taking our taxpayer money, and funneling it into activities used to kill Americans!
Im willing to bet that roughly 75% of this money has gone towards funding the very Taleban that Pakistan CREATED!
Notice it is primarily the diplomats (or CIA under diplomat cover) who are being harassed. These are Hillary's people!
Hillary was there recently and said lots of rude, patronizing, uninformed, undiplomatic things to the Pakistani audiences (just like the stuff she says everywhere), which did not help.
The Pakistan military can't have failed to notice Obama’s placement of 100,000 US troops on the Pakistan border to supposedly fight the 100 Al Qaeda and Taliban “in Afghanistan”. But these troops will be just across the border from Quetta, a no-go zone so far for US and Pakistani troops which Obama basically threatened to invade during the campaign.
The Pakistani military suspects the US and India of conspiring to invade Pakistan from both sides to seize its nukes, should an Islamic faction in the military stage a coup against the hapless and feckless husband of Bhutto. It might well be this very Islamic faction that has launched the harassment of US diplomats.
Meanwhile the Indians are pissed that the US allowed Mr. Headley (just as much a US NBC as Obama) to participate in the Mumbai terrorist attack run by a Jihadi group sheltered and backed by the Pakistan military to harrass India.
Whoever it is harassing US diplomats, they don't care that they have thrown a monkey wrench into Obama’s attempt to squeeze the Taliban and Al Qaeda from both sides in a pincher movement this coming spring with the surge. This is not good for our troops.
They seem to have the odd notion that heaving one’s fetid buttocks Heavenward pleases the Almighty. Perhaps it’s the ..err.. methane that affects their thought processes..
We know some of that money went to the ISI so they can build their new headquarters in Islamabad.
