Going through the comments, I find a lot of “attack the messenger”. Tripe like “where are Sarah Palin’s scientific credentrials.”

I am not a scientist. I am an engineer. In the state where I am licensed (Texas), fudging data is considered an ethics violation, resulting in suspension or loss of license, as a minimum. If it results in damage, injury, or loss of life, it can result in a felony conviction and prison.

Thanks for the post. I hope that people keep in mind the crucial issue here, as Sarah points out - yes there is climate change - it is cyclic and has ALWAYS been part of earth's existence - the CRUCIAL aspect t is to what extend human activity has influenced this natural cycle, because is THIS AND ONLT THIS INFLUENCE that can be modified by policy. Given that this influence is in the 2% to 4% range, the economic/political damage of proposed policies seems to be WAY OUT OF PROPORTION to any possible beneficial effects - other than establishing a World Government and the eradication of individual freedom and economic indepandance IMHO
