The worldwide Anglican Church has been plunged into a fresh crisis after a lesbian was chosen as its second gay bishop.

In a move that will dismay the Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr Rowan Williams, Canon Mary Glasspool was elected as an assistant bishop for the diocese of Los Angeles.

The Rev Rod Thomas, the leader of the conservative evangelical group Reform and a member of the General Synod, said: ‘I feel deeply ashamed that this is happening in the Anglican Church.

‘I think a schism is absolutely inevitable.’

Destruction breeds creation, the Anglican Church is schismatic already all they are doing is continuing down their dark path.

Hmm...perhaps they are the modern version of Dan and the Golden Calf is Homosexuality.

I must have misread the intro paragraph.

The Fury seemed to me, to be that they had appointed a 'female' gay bishop instead of 'male'.

Here is the sentence I refer to.

"The worldwide Anglican Church has been plunged into a fresh crisis after a lesbian was chosen as its second gay bishop"

the diocese of Los Angeles.

Just TEC (The Episcopal Church) up to its old antics. No need to ping either Huber or myself. This is not traditional Anglicanism.

The Episcopal Church can only be called that if you are willing to use a secular definition of “church”. A real Christian church prays for the souls of Episcopalians, of which the Episcopal church has lost sight.

At first glance, I thought it read “Furry lesbian is chosen by Anglican Church to be a bishop”. I had to click, and then my eyes comprehended the real headline.

‘I think a schism is absolutely inevitable.’

What is this inevitable business. The schism should have already happened. It is time for those who love the Lord, and take their Bible seriously, to leave. They should have left decades ago.

Thanks. See #15. TEC will be as TEC does, and if the wwAC didn't react to Robinson they won't react here.

The list is no longer pinged to TEC-only news (but if this finally moves the wwAC into action, that might be news).
