European papers are dismayed by Switzerland's popular vote to ban the building of minarets. Some fear it will backfire, sending the wrong signal to the Muslim world and setting a precedent for other parts of Europe.
Several papers criticise the type of democracy practised in Switzerland, which allows ordinary people rather than elected representatives to decide on such matters. However, one popular Swiss tabloid defends the ban as a starting point for a debate on tolerance.

Funny, from the Swiss perspective the part outside their borders simply practices the same old form of Fascism that's been endemic in the region for the last 3000 years.
If we had that in America, ObamaCare would be dead.
I read a couple of articles in the British Press that were highly critical, but the comments to those articles were very telling in their overwelming support for the Swiss, and their wishes that it would happen in GB as well.
Yeah... Switzerland had the good sense not to align itself with Hitler. Germany, Italy, and Austria are Johnny-come-lately’s to the Western world.
And Europe, in general, is beginning to allow more minarets per square mile then the US has Starbucks. I just hope they remember these press expressions when they all are required to bounce their heads off the floor ( and point their posteriors toward GOD )

I seems like the signal is “Muslims are not welcome in Switzerland”. I have no problem with it.
When the muzzies make their move against the European nations like they did during the crusades and take over parts of Spain, at least the Swiss will be worth fighting to save.

Good on the Swiss. I have spent a lot of time there. They ARE tolerant. Just not stupid sheeple!

Every adult male in Switzerland is also in the military and keeps a machine gun and ammo at home. It is nothing to see people walking around with guns and riding on trains with their guns to shooting ranges. The vast majority of violent crimes in Switzerland are committed by foreigners.

Consider the source. Anything the BBC has to say about Islam in Europe you could have learned from your imam.
The Swiss ban sends exactly the right signal to the Muslim world. It says, you will not be allowed to eradicate centuries of European culture with your immigrant intrusions. If you want to live here in Europe, you will be expected to live like Europeans. If you want to live like Mohammed, leave. It’s a quite proper assessment.
How appalling Islam is!
In Turkey it has become public knowledge that Christians are being targeted for extermination, similiar to what Jews had experienced in Hitler’s Germany. Most of these Christians are Assyrians.
And that is their world program. Like a pandemic disease, it is growing and spreading. The world’s benevolent societies refuse to accept the onslaught of this insidious disease.
