PORT OF SPAIN (Reuters) - World leaders on Friday rallied to a diplomatic offensive to forge a U.N. climate deal in Copenhagen next month and U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said an agreement was "within reach".

Ban, and Danish Prime Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen who will host the December 7-18 U.N. climate talks, hailed what they portrayed as a growing international momentum toward a pact to curb greenhouse gas emissions and limit global warming.

"Our common goal is to achieve a firm foundation for a legally binding climate treaty as early as possible in 2010. I am confident that we are on track to do this," Ban told a summit of Commonwealth leaders in Trinidad and Tobago.

"Each week brings new commitments and pledges -- from industrialized countries, emerging economies and developing countries alike," he added.

"An agreement is within reach ... We must seal a deal in Copenhagen," Ban said. He, Rasmussen and French President Nicloas Sarkozy attended the summit of the 53-nation Commonwealth as special guests to lobby on Friday for international consensus on a climate pact.

Rasmussen said Denmark had received an "overwhelmingly positive" response to its invitation to world leaders to attend the talks next months. "More than 85 heads of state and government have told us they are coming to Copenhagen, and many are still positively considering," he said.

He urged major developed countries to deliver firm commitments on cutting greenhouse gas emissions and to "put figures on the table" for "up-front" financing to help poor nations combat climate change.

"The need for money on the table -- that is what we want to achieve in Copenhagen," Rasmussen told a news conference later.

Do these people really think that they will be taken seriously at this Copenhagen meeting?

Is Climate gate going to be a scandal in which things keep dripping out, day by day? How can we take any of this seriously now that so much damaging information is out there?

Are they going to proceed with this meeting as if nothing happened with the release of the damaging information??

Is Obama aware of Climategate????????

At the very least, shouldn’t world leaders put the brakes on making far reaching policy decisions based on questionable science?????????

Oh there will be a deal alright. I’m guessing that these nations will agree that global warming is happening and ban questioning it.

ClimateGate is putting these guys under pressure they’ve never felt before. They have made things up. And now they don’t want to be caught.

If there is ONE THING at this conference that they all agree about, it’s that they’re right.

So watch for some kind of “agreement” silencing any debate on the subject.

Former Senator and Vice President Al Gore seen here en-route back to prison after a federal appeals court refused to review his 20 year sentence for his lead role as spokesperson in the “Climategate” fraud conspiracy. The same court recently rejected the appeals of the lengthy sentences of the 137 alleged UN “scientists” – Gore’s co-conspirators – for falsifying data supporting so-called Cap and Trade legislation that trial testimony disclosed would have virtually destroyed what remained of the U.S. economy while enriching Gore and a cabal of insiders.

Lord Monckton is reporting that the treaty will establish OWG. Binding. It cannot be reversed. Doesn’t the congress need to ratify this?

This remind me of the old song from ???Doris Day???, about sheep that have lost their way, Bah! Bah! Bah!

They lost their magic rug and Sinbad is flying high.

“When fools rush in” are the words from another song.

In five years their foolishness will be their downfall. They will be made fools in their own homelands. Their work will be undone.

The Sun’s blessing is withheld.

Reuters conveniently forgot to mention that Australia’s Emission Trading Scheme (similar to our Cap n’ Tax) is about to become the first mortality of Climategate. Scratch one Copenhagen celebration.

While I agree with your conclusion, what else is there these globalists can USE to scare the majority of the world's population into bondage. Quite clearly this is about 'equalizing outcomes' under a world body. First step is to establish the methodology of a funding mechanism to launch their equalizing models.
