According to POLITICO, Obamas fans in the Beltway are shocked, shocked that he and his White House minions scapegoat White House General Counsel Greg Craig for Obamas failed promise to close Guantanamo in one year.
The closing of Guantanamo as Obamas critics have long predicted aint gonna happen, because theres no place else to put the hardcore terrorists currently housed there. When Obama announced his dubious executive order closing Guantanamo by January 2010, the Kool-Aid drinkers were ecstatic. See? they said, This is why we elected him. We were so right.
No, they were so wrong. It was a boneheaded, half-baked plan then, and it still is. The order was issued with nary a thought as to where to move Guantanamos detainees another example of the President making moves just for show

FWIW, Greg Craig is the low life SOB lawyer, working on "behalf" of (I believe) The National Council of Churches, who got Elian Gonzalez sent back to Cuba.
As far as I'm concerned the darkest pits of Hell are reserved for his type.

FLASHBACK to January 22, 2009 ...
B.O. has to consult his underling, Greg Craig, for simple details of his own first Executive Orders.

For those may have forgotten...from Wikipedia:
“He has represented numerous high-profile clients, including John W. Hinckley, Jr., who was acquitted of the attempted assassination of Ronald Reagan by reason of insanity. As assistant to the President and special counsel in the White House of President Bill Clinton, Craig directed the team defending Clinton against impeachment. He was a foreign policy advisor to Senator Edward Kennedy and to Secretary of State Madeleine Albright.”

Greg Craig reportedly help influence the decision by the White House to destabilize the current government in Honduras. Thankfully this deceit has also backfired.

Time to add that Obama has been remarkably inept in getting first-class folks to work for him. He's stuck with a barnyard full of third-rate half-wits, crooks and conmen.
Greg Craig is just the first of many who should and must be removed from government ~ both for our protection and theirs.
These guys are so stupid they are in danger of tripping over carpet designs.

If the Thompson Correctional becomes the new home of the Gitmo detainees, Barry didn't "shut down" anything. "Club Gitmo" will simply be converted to "Durbin's Gulag", which will COST Illinois a lot of money and act to recruit local knuckleheads into al'Qaeda newbies.
Durbin was asked about taking a referendum to the voters of Illinois about this and he said "I don't think so." Quinn was espousing democracy while acting as a dictator with no accountability for the decision-making process regarding the sales of state property to the Feds.
Democracy is DEAD.

So, who hired Craig Livingston?
Was it Col. Mustard? Maybe Ms. Peacock? Was it Mr. 0bama?
Maybe it was Hillary Clinton?
Well, I don't know, but it's fun to watch the rats scurry about. Right, Mr. Daschle? How about you Mr. Rangle? Or how about you, Mr. William Jefferson (D)etainee from LA)?
Other questions about democRAT corruption: Has Blogo been tried and convicted yet? What's the status on ACORN's 13 indictments? Wasn't 0bama acorn's council for a few years? Is Eliot Spitzer still seeing hookers? I'm sure Bwarney Fwank doesn't run a homosexual prostitution ring out of his house anymore. Speaking about Fwank, are there any charges against Fannie Mae's former CEO or lead council?
I could go on...

"I am surprised to see this article from the Seattle area newspaper."
The Seattle Examiner is not a regular newspaper - it is a relatively new on-line only newspaper, and I think it is part of a national "chain" of Examiner "newspapers" in various communities. I think the writers are mostly unpaid amateur bloggers who write under the umbrella of the Examiner name. Maybe some other Freeper has more specific information about it.

Thanks for the link. This is the most detailed account I've seen of the damage Craig did. TIME wouldn't have been given all this inside information if the White House wasn't intent on not only blaming all their Latin American blunders on one guy but destroying his career and credibility also. Rham Emanuel should have shared a byline with the TIME reporters.
